Erin's POV

I will admit, I'm a little happy. Okay, very happy. I mean, I found out the guy I love likes me. I'm his reason for fighting his cancer, I didn't know I was that important to him. Monday came around and I walk in and walk over to Dylan who was standing at his locker. "Hey." I say as he closes his locker. "Hi." I hug him. "Are you okay?" I ask him. "Yeah, I just don't feel good." He hugs me back. "Oh.." I peck his lips. "Do you want me at your chemo after school?" He nods weakly, I hate seeing him on the days where he feels terrible. I mean, I know most days he feels like crap but on some days he feels worse. He doesn't deserve to go through all this. "I'm going to start missing a lot more school, because of doctors appointments and I don't have much energy." I break the hug "Okay... Ready to head to class?" He nods again. "I have to stop by my locker real quick." He starts walking. "I really need to sit down so I'll see you in class." He walks to class and I go to my locker. As soon as I close it I see a crowd gathered around something. I push through the crowd only to see Dylan being pushed against a locker by the school's jock. I drop my bag and go over, standing in front of Dylan. "What the hell is wrong with you? Leave him alone." The jock, Darren just laughed and left. I turn back to Dylan. "Hey... You okay?" He sniffles and nods and just walks to class.

Dylan really wasn't feeling good so he just decided to sleep, the teacher skipped him passing out our work. "Why does he get to sleep ma'am?" One of the very annoying kids ask. Dylan sits up. "Yeah, why does he get special treatment." Dylan looks over at me. "Just tell them why. I don't even care if they know." Everyone turns their attention to me. "Well, D--" "We can't hear you." I groan and stand up from my desk. "Dylan always gets excused to do work because he can't be too stressed. This is because he has cancer, so he's not feeling very well most of the time and he doesn't have much energy to do anything. He usually does easier assignments at home so he can still get credit." Most people looked a little shocked, I mean I was too when I found out. "So, that's why he misses a lot of school?" I nod. "Yes, he's going through treatment. It's not the easiest thing for him so if you could all lay of, that'd really help him." I look over at Darren, who was in this class. "And don't hurt him. He's hurting enough." Darren actually looked like he felt bad, but he still did it. "Why did he even tell you?" Another kid asks. "Because we're friends, well we're more than friends now I think." Dylan nods and I sit back down. The teacher resumes teaching the class. I hope nobody else messes with him, he doesn't need it. I'm here for him though.
