Erin's POV

A month of dating goes by super fast, our first date was at his house because he didn't have enough energy to go anywhere. He felt bad but to honest, it was my first ever date and I had a great time. We've literally spent every weekend together, we're literally just cuddling and watching something called Tokyo Ghoul. It's one of his favorites. "So, I--" "Can we go somewhere? Somewhere fun?" He asks. "Um, yeah. Where?" He stays quiet for a minute. "How about the fair?" He asks. "Dylan, do you have enough energy to walk around?" He nods. "Yeah, if I get too tired I'll simply sit down." I wasn't too sure this was a good idea but it's what he wants to do, so we'll do it. "Fine." He smiles and gets up. He goes up to his room, then his mom walks into the living room where I am currently. "Make sure he doesn't overwork himself. Please." I stand up from the couch. "Don't worry, if I notice him feeling weak, we'll leave after he sits for a bit." She smiles. "Thank you so much. I want him to have everything he can have, because its possible he'll, you know." I look down. "Yeah, I know." Dylan comes downstairs, now dressed. "Ready?" His mom asks, I'm guessing she's dropping us off. "Yeah." We go and get in the car and his mom drives us. I do notice Dylan has quite a bit of energy, more than usual. I feel like he should save it for something more important though, but it's his choice and he wants to have fun. So, we're going to have fun.

His mom dropped us off and we paid for entrance and walked in. He laced our fingers together and we just walked around, since he's not well enough to go on any rides. "So, when was the last time you went to one of these?" I ask Dylan. "I was like thirteen." He says as he looks around. "Wow, four years? Well, I've never been to this fair, I went to the North Georgia State Fair when I lived in Georgia." We continue walking, but after about twenty minutes Dylan has slowed up a lot. "Hey, let's stop for a bit." He shakes his head and continues walking. I take out my phone and text his mom to come pick us up, we then turn around and start walking back toward the exit. He didn't look exhausted but he looked very weak, and he was barely moving. "Are you--" "I'm fine. We're almost there anyways." I sigh a bit and keep walking with him at his slow pace. "That's it Dylan, we're si--" As I say that, he falls to the ground. I kneel next to him, not caring that there are people staring. I'm freaking out on the inside, I don't know what to do. So, I call 911, and they said they would come as fast as they can. "Dylan.." I say in utter fear. The ambulance comes after what seems like years and they transport him to the hospital, taking me with them. Then I had to wait a couple hours for test results. The doctor walks out. "Mrs. Evans, Erin?" The both of us look up. "How is he?" His mom asks. "Well, his chronic lymphocytic leukemia seems to have progressed, he's nearly stage four." Leukemia, that's what he has. His monster has a true name, he's been keeping it from me. I now know, his chance of survival is slim. I might lose him.
