(Sorry about the crapy chapter yesh I'm loopy at 12am lol)

It was the weekend

You wake up early at 6am you don't go to work untill 7:40am today  (you waitress at a local restaurant you make good tips, work is the only place you smile)

You decide to get up early and take a shower you decide to blow dry your hair as well, shortly after you realize that it was a bad idea after you brushed your hair it puffed up like some pomeranian on your head you wet it a little you tie it up with a black ribbon since your last hair tie broke

Apparently you where making too much noise because your dad banged on the wall and yells by this time it was 7 and your alarm went off you rush to turn it off but your phone acted up
"SHUT THAT SHIT UP," Your step-dad yells
"Sorry," you say then button up the last button on your white shirt and tie your black shoes and head off to work you get on your bike (since you don't have a car) you get to work and the first person you sit is Jerome

"Oh hi Jerome seat for one?" I ask
"No one second my little brother is coming," he answers
"Hi," his brother says walking in
"Hi ok so grown-up menu and kids or do you want a grown up menu?"
"Two grown up menus please,"
"K ok," you say with a smile and grabbed two menus
"Booth or table,"
"Booth,"
You lead them to a booth and ask what drinks they want then then top off the drinks at the table next to them and bring them their drinks after you get them their check he leaves you his number and a nice tip you smile and feel grateful full about the tip and in your head you wonder why he would do that...you finish your shift  and you still can't wrap your head around it but all the signs where there he moved her from California last year he had always been nice to you but you rarely had a conversation with him.

You get home and notice that your step dad is extremely drunk you walk in and try to go upstairs to your room when he grabs you by the arm and asks you to see all your grades you get every graded paper you can find trying to avoid conflict and for every paper that was a C he yells at you and slaps you you finally get tired of this and stand up reaching for your math books throwing them at him
yelling "I TRY OK IT'S HARD IT'S DIFFICULT FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND IT BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I'M NOT A HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUT UNLIKE YOU, I'M WAITING FOR LETTERS FROM COLLEGE AND HOW AM I GOING TO PAY FOR COLLEGE WANT TO KNOW HOW! WELL IT SURE AS HELL ISN'T ANY OF YOUR MONEY I'VE NEVER SEEN A DIME OF THAT," you storm upstairs you pack a bag you wait for him to pass out on the couch then you grab your school stuff you walk out the door you don't know what to do when you remember Jerome but you figure that would be weird but a cold front had hit the city and all your jackets had holes in them you sit down on a park bench and decide to call him...
Ring...ring...ring...ring...
"Hello?" You hear him say
"H-hi it's  (y,n) I'm sorry if I woke you but I don't have anyone else to talk too a-" you stop and start to cry as you remember something from your child hood

Flash back...

(Your mom on the phone crying)
You and your sister siting on a cold park bench... your step-dad  (well he wasn't at the time) came to get you he was nice sober and clean of drugs but she said to him I had no one else

"Hello?" He said
"Im coming to get you where are you at?" He continued
"T-the park on the w-west side of town...," You barely could say that sentence
"Ok I will be there shortly," he answered

He stayed on the phone with you comforting you, you saw a gray pick up stop in front of you Jerome got out it started to rain he put his jacket over you and put you in the front passenger seat before he closed the door he saw your wrist with out the bandages and the bruises on your face and arm he closed the door and got in.

"You don't have to tell me what happened in just want to know if you're ok?"
"Im fine,"
"Are you sure you can tell me,"

You cried and he reached for your hand but reflexes made you pull away, he understood he pulled in to the driveway of a nice brick house he killed the truck and opened your door and walked you inside his mom saw you and walked over brushing her fingers over the bruises on your face and got you a blanket and pillow and showed you the way to a guest room with a modern looking couch that folded into a comfortable bed she put a couple pillows on it and gave you the blanket and Jerome brought you a glass of water
"Good night," he says
You hug him he hugs back
"Night," you say laying down he sits down on the bed and swipes the hair out your your eyes then goes to his room, for the first time in forever you feel cared about.
