I sat in the hospital as I held Sophie's hand, she was in a coma it has been four days and there's no change I wiped away a tear from my eye I had to stay strong for sammi, she's been asking about her mum and I don't know what to tell her, when I et my hands on barry barry im going to kill him "tm, you should go, go to work clear your head" Rachel said I phoned them and told her what happened as soon as we got to the hospital and she came straight back up, Michael has been in to see her a few times, I held her hand and kissed it " you've got to wake up soph, I don't know what to do if I didn't have you and don't worry when I see Barry Barry ill kill him for you sammi is asking after you, you misses you so do I, id have anything for you to have oe of your mood swings or one of your sarcastic comments, you dot realise how much I miss you, how much I love you, the bed feels empty without you taking up all the read and hogging all the blanket its just not the same I love you, you need to wake up so that we can start packing for Manchester, you know I cant do packing I need you, I love you Sophie Clarkson" I said kissing her forehead and turning round to leave the room "ah mr Clarkson" said sophies doctor " is there any change doc" I asked him "come into my office" he said leading me along the corridor "well" I asked as I took a seat "i have your wife's results back, the MRI shows a bleed on the brain" "what does that mean" I asked "your wife has suffered from traumatic brain injury after the accident and it seems this is why shes not responding" "what does this mean for my wife" I asked "ill be honest its not looking good for sophie, were going to but her through for emergency surgery this afternoon but there's only 20% change of her making it" he said "do it" I said "your her next to kin, you'll have to sign the consent forms" he said handing me the forms "any change phone me immediately

I got to work and walked down the hall with Maggie "hows grantly" I asked her "every morning I call and the same nurse tells me the same thing" she said "well at least hes not getting any worse" I said "hows sophie" she asked "shes not responding, theres a bleed on her brain there performing surgery today she hasn't got much change of living" I said "im so sorry tom" "its sammi, if she dies what do I tell her" "your a great dad, you'll know what to say" she said and I smiled "i didn't realise how much id miss her" I said "sophie has that effect on people, she has a big heart and she makes everyone around her love her" Maggie said and I smiled. I went into the staff room and checked my phone as niki was introduced as the new head and Christine announced that the school was going private "and what about the kids who are already here" I asked "well they'll keep there place" said Lorraine "were going on strike" Christine said and I walked out of the school along with the rest of the teachers.

At the end of break my phone rang "Rachel" I said as I answered the phone "tom, its sophie shes waking up" she said and relieve hit me "im on my way" I said as I hung up the phone "tom where are you going" Christine asked "sorry Christine, my wife needs me" I said "give her my love" she said and I walked into the car park and drove to the hospital as fast as I could. I soon got to sophies room where I bumped into Rachel and eddie in the hall "how is she?"i asked "shes waking up, go sit with your wife tom" eddie said sending me into the room. I sat next to sophie and took her hand and watched as her eyes fluttered open and shut a few times before she opened her eyes fully and looked at me "hey" I said and she smiled slightly "how are you feeling" I asked her "like crap" she said and I laughed "well you were hit with a car and have had surgery" I said as she squeezed my hand. "im sorry" she said "no, I don't want to hear it, just know I love you I thought I lost you, you have to be the most stubborn and gobbiest woman I ever know" I said  and she smirked at me.
