"It's so strange but, you seem perfectly fine. All your stitches have healed and little Mackenzie's doing great as well" The nurse stared at her clipboard in bafflement, "you have some incredible family genes which helps you heal, don't you?" Sarah chuckled to herself, thinking she'd made a joke.

If only she knew, Malia laughed.

Stiles came bustling into the room, coffee cups perched precariously in his arm. Malia could have bet on what happened next as Stiles wobbled towards her and dropped the coffee, which splashed all over the floor a few feet away from Mackenzie.

"For gods sake Stiles! Could you please just not?" Malia grumbled, staring up at the midwife who had covered her face with her hands and was trying hard not to laugh.

Malia jumped off the bed and grabbed a paper towel from the box outside the room. "It's okay Malia, I'll get that" Sarah took Malia back into the room and cleaned up for her.

"Why didn't you just get someone to help you take those up?" Malia asked Stiles as she sat back down.

"Because, Malia, I can't just stop people from doing their work so that I can carry a couple coffee's up the stairs!"

"Okay you two, don't have a domestic" Sarah tried to be lighthearted but Malia glared at her behind her back.

"Interfering old hag" Malia mouthed to Stiles, who nodded in agreement with a sly smile on his face.

"Are you ready to go home, Malia?" Sarah asked as she started to tidy the room.

"I-I guess... I won't be all alone with Mackenzie will I?" Malia sounded scared.

"No, I'll be visiting every week for five weeks, then I'll start coming less regularly. But you get the health nurse every four weeks" Sarah explained.

Malia nodded then picked up Mackenzie, wrapping her in the fluffy blanket Stiles had bought about a week ago.

Mackenzie's eyes fluttered open, she let out a small yawn, then fell back to sleep again. Malia kissed her forehead gently. "You're so pretty, babygirl" she whispered.

After all their checks had been done, and they'd officially been signed out of the maternity ward, Malia and Stiles headed for the parking lot.

They struggled with the car seat, but after twenty minutes of pulling and pushing the seat back and forward, Mackenzie was finally strapped in safely.

Stiles went to start up the engine but instead the two new parents sat staring out of the window, not saying a word.

"I can't believe this is real" Malia whispered, breaking the silence.

"Me neither" Stiles whispered back, "wait why are we whispering?" He continued to whisper.

"Because the baby's asleep" Malia turned to face Stiles.

"She's always asleep" Stiles was still whispering.

"Dude, stop" Malia clapped her hands in front of his face, stirring Mackenzie.

"Oh, good going... Mom" Stiles said sarcastically then drove out of the hospital grounds.

"She never cried once!" Malia smiled as she lifted the car seat inside of Stiles' house for the first time.

Stiles wasn't saying much, which was out of the ordinary for him.

Malia soon found out why he was staying quiet yet grinning like an idiot, when she stepped into the living room where there was a huge 'Welcome Home M+M' sign taped to the wall. A party popper went off and all their friends came running out, including Stiles' father.
