"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" Malia chimed as she walked down the corridor and into the living room.

She lay the cake down on the coffee table, in front of her daughter. "Mommy help you blow out the candle?" Malia leant forward, along with Mackenzie.

The two girls blew out the '1' candle, glowing away on the top of the chocolate cake.

"Yaaay!" Stiles cheered as everyone joined in, clapping their hands. Mackenzie giggled and clapped her hands too.

"Yay, happy birthday my big girl," Malia beamed and kissed her daughter on the cheek.

"Momma!" Mackenzie reached out her arms.

Malia picked up the little girl and sat back against the couch as the party guests took their seats around the room.

"I'm just so happy for you guys! Finally in your own house, and all three of you are happy," Scott couldn't stop smiling.

"Aw, is young Scott gonna cry?" Stiles teased.

"Yeah, we've all come a long way since graduation."

Malia's experience of graduation had been exactly the way she'd always imagined it would be.

She was surrounded by all of her closest friends, and not one of her classmates bothered her about being out of school for so long.

Stiles' father attended the graduation for Stiles but also Malia, proving that he really was the father figure that she had never had.

Henry would have never supported Malia as much as the Sherrif did, in everything she had been through.

"Well, I'm just proud that finally everyone's happy and healthy," Stiles pulled Malia into a hug.

"To us!" Lydia laughed, and lifted her glass into the air.

"Malia, can I talk to you?" Scott gestured for his friend to meet him in the hall.

Malia put Mackenzie down on the couch and followed Scott out of the room.

"Will this be long? Cause it's kinda my daughter's first birthday," Malia tapped her foot impatiently.

"I have news.. Good and bad," Scott spoke.

"Okay...?" Malia was hesitant to know what Scott had to say. Especially the bad news.

"Right so, Deaton said that Mackenzie will never be able to transform on a full moon..."

"But?" Malia sensed that there was more.

"Her eyes will probably always turn blue, and possibly her fangs will come out, if she ever gets angered or stressed."

"Are you kidding me?!" Malia yelled, then covering her mouth after hearing the living room turn quiet. "Kids can't help but get angry and stressed! It doesn't matter to me, but in school it will!" She half whispered, half hissed.

"So that's why you can help her control it, but you have to start now..." Scott told Malia.

Malia groaned and ran her fingers through her hair. "She's still a baby, she won't understand any of this."
