Black Pyramid LLC.

Chapter 3

The card read Black Pyramid LLC. in gold ink and had an address. There was no number or email, but the receptionist at The Standard told me that they always sent over their good candidates because Black Pyramid was growing rapidly and they needed more employees.

Honestly I wasn't in a position to be choosy- but any legitimate employment would help keep my daughter in my custody. I would do anything to be able to provide for my daughter and keep her at the very least the same amount of time as her father.

Tomorrow I would try again and go
to Black Pyramid  first thing in the morning. I didn't like using Chris Brown's credit card and I intended on sending his attorney a check to pay him back for his money that I have borrowed. Employment would be a happy step towards independence away from my soon to be ex husband.

Lux was all smiles when I came to pick her up from preschool. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Guess what mommy?"

"What baby?"  I asked her as I picked her up.

"Daddy came to visit me today!" Lux screamed.

My heart fell into my stomach at the statement. Why would he come visit her at school. Was he trying to abduct Lux and keep her away from me. I was really bothered.
I decided to talk to the teacher. She said he came to pay Lux's tuition for the remainder of the year and popped in to say hi.

"I realize you're getting divorced. The other mom's were trying to gossip and I told them to stop. That that type of conversation is prohibited and could lead to their children being dismissed from Oakwood." Julie smiled at me in an apologetic way.

"It's okay." I stated trying to stay strong, "I didn't do anything. He just wants to sleep with other people." I sighed at the memory of walking in on him and his mistress.

"What do you want?" Julie asked thoughtfully.

"A big cock." I blushed as the words came out of my mind.

"Me too." Julie smiled.

"Thanks for being so understanding and helpful, Julie." I smiled at Lux playing with the toy train.

"What are teachers for?" She asked rhetorically.

"Lots of things." I stated as Lux picked up the train and put it away.

The morning was a blur. Lux began getting sick with the flu and I had to call my mom to come over and take care of her at 2 in the morning. I slept four hours before my alarm went off and got ready for my interview. I let the water in the shower pour over my body as I contemplated what I would say. My experience was great and my education was great; the only problem- I hadn't been employed in 6 years. I wasn't sure they would understand that I needed to be a mom or wife but we'd deal with that when we got to it.

I walked into the Black Pyramid Headquarters, and it wasn't at all what I expected. There was a lot of art on each wall in the building. Some murals and lots of frames filled with art. Clearly art was valued here. I smiled at the receptionist and introduced myself.

"Carly said she had an amazing candidate for us. Let me take you to HR," the slim blonde smiled and led the way through the building.
"Here's our girl Ally that Carly sent over from The Standard."

I sat down at the direction of the woman named Tammy as her office door stated. "So Ally, you come highly recommend, tell me a little bit about yourself."

"I went to Stanford for a design and marketing degree. I was employed by a large software company for marketing before moving on to a career at a graphic design firm. I got married at 26 and left the workforce to become a mom and wife. I'm getting divorced now and I'm ready to re-enter the workforce and do work I'm passionate about."

"That sounds wonderful, except for the part about getting divorced. I only have one opening and although it isn't a direct creative or marketing role, it would utilize those talents once in awhile."

"Sold," Ally smiled.

"You will be the secretary for the CEO. We have never had a need for him to have a secretary, but the company had grown so much in the last year that it will be a vital role in the company. He may ask you to help him creatively or he may ask you something like find me nude models. Or get me 2000 egg rolls. Whatever his request it is vital you help him get it. For future reference we are very casual here- jeans and a t shirt are our dress code." Tammy smiled, "Can you start work Friday?"

"Absolutely." I smiled excited about getting hired. "What will I be earning monetarily speaking?"

"I am not sure. I think somewhere between 10-18k a month, but I have to double check with Breezy."

"Who's Breezy?" I asked confused.

"The CEO." Tammy smiled at me.

"Okay, great. I'll see you Friday then." I smiled before leaving graciously thanking Tammy.
