I fumbled awkwardly as I attempted to redress myself as quickly as humanly possible. I actually fell while attempting to put on my jeans."Slow down baby," Chris spoke as he removed the dirty condom and flushed it down the toilet of his office bathroom.
I didn't slow down. I worked faster; I had just cried during orgasm with my non-boyfriend boyfriend and I was feeling vulnerable. I had been married 6 years and I never cried once with my husband.
Chris moved in closer, "baby why are you in such a rush? The building isn't on fire." He picked up my bra and handed it to me.
I took my bra, but didn't make eye contact with him. I turned around and put it back on before picking up my t-shirt.
"Baby what's wrong?" Chris pushed my chin up to look at him.
"Are you gonna fire me if I don't want to continue sleeping with you, Chris?" I was putting up a giant brick wall. I was done sleeping with Chris. I was done connecting with him- I didn't want to be vulnerable or anything. I needed a break from relationships.
"Baby what are you saying?" Chris touched my shoulder staring at me with his big brown sparklers.
"I don't want to do this anymore, Chris." I looked at him in the eyes with my heart pounding in my ears, "Are you going to fire me for not sleeping with you?"
"I didn't hire you sleep with me Ally and I'm not gonna fire you if you want to stop sleeping with me." Chris took his hand off my shoulder with a sad expression.
I exited his office without saying anything. I can't lie my heart broke a little bit inside when he realized the party was over. I felt worse for the fact that he had bought me so many gifts recently. I didn't want him for his money- I wasn't one of those girls. He could've had $3 in his pocket and I still would've wanted him. Except now he had come into my personal space and I wasn't ready for that.
I sat down at my desk and just started checking emails and memos. Most of them were from Chris to the entire company, but it didn't exactly help me clear my mind. Chris didn't leave his office for the rest of the day.
I didn't want to bother him so I just stared at the blank Google search page until his mom walked through the office with Lux and Rory.
"Hi darling," Joyce hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. The girls moved towards Chris' office door before screaming and running inside. "What's new Ally?"
"Not much, literally. I don't have anything to do right now. I've been staring at the google search page for like 3 hours."
Joyce laughed at me, "you know there's this thing called online shopping. It is very entertaining."
"I know. I just don't like to steal company time."
"Why don't we all take the girls to dinner tonight and have drinks?"
I froze. I just told Chris I wanted nothing to do with him and his saint of a mother. "Ask Chris." I didn't want to agree to do anything with Chris, his mom and the girls if he didn't want me there.
Chris walked out of his office with the girls in-tow laughing with him.
"Baby, I was thinking we should all go to dinner and we can have drinks. What do you think?" Joyce asked her only son.
My heart was in my stomach hoping Chris would say no.
"Sounds good mom." Chris smiled at me with his pearly whites.
"We are going to dinner with mommy." Rory yelled before jumping on me. Great another reason to feel guilty about not wanting to be with Chris.
"Calm down Royalty, or you won't be going to dinner." Chris commanded his daughter strongly.
