A/u This is a oneshot of Katniss and Prim at school. There is no quarter quell in here and she didn't fall in love with Peeta (who died in the games) so she became a single victor

Katniss' POV
As soon as the clock hit three I made my way to the school. I always picked Prim up and walked her home after school and now that I'm a victor and I don't have to go to school I can still continue the tradition. I waited under the tree for her class to be dismissed. I occupied myself by drawing little flowers on the trunk of the tree. "Prim what happened to your nose?" A little girl asked my sister. I whipped around and searched for my little sister. Sure enough she had tears streaming down her face and blood dripping from her nose. I ran over to her and enveloped her in a hug. I grabbed out my handkerchief so she can wipe the blood off. "What happened to you?" I asked her with concern. "N-nothing. I'm fine." She tried to lie but I could easily tell. I sighed and looked her in the eyes. "Prim I am being serious what happened?" She wiped her nose and sniffled. "This boy hit me because I sat where he was supposed to." I frowned. What is wrong with that boy. If someone is sitting where you are 'supposed' to then you should just ask them to move. "Did he get into trouble?" Normally if you make physical contact with another kid you get into trouble. I hope this is the case with the boy who hurt Prim. She shakes her head much to my surprise. "Ok I'm going to go find him." I say quickly and stand up. Prim grabs my arm and pulls me back. "No he will hate me more, you can't hurt him." She says desperately to me which makes me madder. This kid made Prim upset and scared and no one is allowed to do that on my watch. I shake her off me. "Prim please. He shouldn't hit you because you sat in his spot. I need to go talk to him." After a while she nods and lets go of me. She points over to a young boy who is playing around with other people. "Gale watch Prim. I need to go talk to this kid." I leave her with Gale who was picking up Rory. I walk over to the kid. He doesn't seem to notice me but one of his friends does. He hits the kid and whispers "Blake, she's here." At least I know his name now. His eyes widen but after a while he smirks and folds his arms. "I see you hit my sister. Care to explain why." I ask him. He scoffs and laughs but I keep my face in a glare. "She was sitting in my seat so I hit her to tell her to get out of it." He explains like it's nothing. Although he isn't scared his friends seem to be. They keep glancing at me, then him and then the others. "If you wanted her to move then you should have asked politely." I say to him and he gives me a look of disbelief. "Whatever no harm done." This time I'm seething. "No harm done. Are you serious? She has a broken nose!" I spit through gritted teeth. He laughs. "Wow I did good then." I can't take it anymore. I know I promised Prim that I wouldn't hurt him but Blake is a jerk. He didn't get in trouble for breaking her nose so I'm going to teach him a lesson. I grab him by his collar and shove him against the wall. This causes gasps and many people to hurry over to see what's happening. "Look here Blake. You are never going to hurt my sister again. I don't care if she is sitting in your seat or not. YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HER! I survived the Hunger Games do you really think I can't take on you. If I had my bow and arrow right now you would find an arrow going through your skull and if you do it again I will not hesitate to put it there. Do I make myself clear?" I yell at him. He nods quickly and I roughly let him go and he falls on the floor. "That goes for all of you." I point to everyone, who are looking at me with fear, shock yet a little admiration. I walk over to Prim and take her hand. I begin to walk home with Gale and Rory behind me. "You promised not to hurt him." Prim whispers to me but I can hear the hint of happiness in her voice. "He's fine and don't lie. You enjoyed that." She giggles and grips my hand tighter. "Ok fine I may have liked it a bit." I smile at her. Gale and her are the only ones that can get a smile out of me. After the games I felt guilty and terrible. Like all the deaths were my fault, even though they weren't. I'm getting better though and seeing Prim happy and laughing is helping allot. I could never lose her and I would easily die for her. That's why I volunteered for her. I couldn't let Prim die in the sick games even if it meant my own death being written. Luckily for me I made it out alive and I am able to care for her.
