I sat on a chair feeling blue,
‘coz everytime I’m alone I think of you.
I think about how you treat me as a friend,
And when I remember that, my heart aches with no end.
You may not know I am hurting,
‘coz everytime we’re together you see me smiling.
When I am with you I am a great pretender,
Maybe If I join the drama club, I’ll be a good performer.
One day you told me that you’re in love,
I hope, it’s me, I am wishing from above.
But my heart breaks again when you told me she’s “Lilie”
The most popular girl in school lately.
Why wouldn’t you fall for her?
She is everything and I am nothing compared to her.
But I smiled and told you “go court her.”
Then you said, “No, I am not yet sure of my feelings for her.”
A tiny glimmer of hope I felt in my heart,
But I know I must not hope that much.
‘coz I know I am your BESTFRIEND only,
That will be your most supportive Buddy.
One day, you and ‘Lilie’ became close friends,
I know now, I must distant myself.
For maybe, you’re planning to court her anytime,
And I must ready my heart for that time.
‘coz there’ll be no more hope left for me,
If you and ‘Lilie’ will be together and be very happy.
I always refuse if you ask me to join your company,
And I know you notice it lately.
Now, I am walking alone, going straight home,
Reminiscing our childhood days where we’re happy all along.
But I was shocked when someone blindfolded me,
And I fainted after they injected me.
I woke up in my own room that night,
I almost die of fright when you turn on the light.
Slowly, you walk to me with your guitar,
You knelt beside me and started strumming your guitar.
I was surprised when you sing my favorite song,
You’re the only one who knows that ‘coz where bestfriends for so long.
After you sang, tears form in my eyes,
And I am so speechless that time.
“Ashley Nathalie, my bestfriend forever…
Will you now be my partner forever?”
I started crying hearing that from you,
I can’t find any word to say to you.
“But you told me you’re inlove with ‘Lilie’”
Finally, I utter those words bravely.
But then you started laughing hardly,
And I felt that you’re joking only.
“Have you forgotten that you’re nickname is ‘Lilie’?”
You said those word looking into my eyes straightly.
Then you cupped my face with your hands and said happily,
“I love you Ashley Nathalie, my ‘Lilie’”
