"I don't get what you're trying to tell me, Jerome," you said, walking around your apartment.

"I'm trying to say he's cheating! Do I have to write it out for you? I will! I'll get a pen and paper! Where do you keep your stationary?" He asked. He started searching for paper.

"Jerome," you started to follow him, "stop! Why do you thing he's cheating on me? He would never do that!"

"I saw it! He kissed her! He had his hands all over her! He was supposedly at uh, Mooney's right? That what he told you?" You nodded. "He wasn't there, Sweetheart. He was across town, walking around with some whore."

"He was not, Jerome! He was talking to Fish about some important business!"

"Oh yeah?! What business?! Did he tell you that?! He didn't did he?!" He yelled. You shook your head, tears starting to fall.

"Oswald would never do that to me!" You yelled back. "He loves me! I love him!" He slumped.

"You're right. I'm wrong, like I always am. As you always are," he said, walking towards the door.

"Jerome wait," you said, feeling harsh. He stood in front of the door, his back to you. "Don't leave. I didn't mean it like that." He turned to you.

"Yes you did. You spoke loud and clear this time. I'll leave you be. Have fun with the cheater." He opened the door and shut it with a slam. You started to sob, but soon stopped. You'd ask Oswald when he got home. You'd find out for yourself.

"I'm home! What's for dinner?" Oswald called as he walked in. You were sat on the couch, staring straight ahead.

"I didn't get a chance to make it yet. I've been doing work around the apartment." He walked to the side of the couch and looked at you.

"Something the-"

"Are you cheating on me?" You asked. He looked at you and scoffed. When you didn't laugh or grin he got upset.

"Cheating on you? Really? That's what's bugging you? You think I'm cheating on you?" He said, walking around with his same limp, only a little faster. "Who would give you that bright idea?"

"Jerome," you answered quickly. He turned to stare at you and he glared. Jerome was your greatest and oldest friend. He'd always been there for you, but he wasn't happy with the fact that you were dating Oswald.

"That clown told you that lie? I'll kill him, then I'll kill him some more."

"Are you cheating on me?"

"No-"

"Don't lie to me, Oswald!"

"Yes! Yes I am! You can't satisfy me!" You stood there. You were shocked.

"I don't know how I ever fell in love with you! You're a neurotic, unintelligent, penguin!"

"Don't call me penguin!" He yelled, walking quickly to you and slapping you in the face. You looked to him and went to the door and left.
~~~~~~~~
"Please open up," you mumbled. The door swung open and you engulfed him in a hug.
"(Y/n)? What are you doing here..?" Jerome asked.
"You," you sobbed, "you were right. I was wrong. Like I always am, and you always are." He looked you in the eyes and kissed you. You kissed him back and hoped this would end up better.
