"The last trial is now beginning. Please fasten your seatbelts and witness who among this 16 schools is the strongest of the continent. Before we proceed, let me call on His Majesty for the announcement of rewards." The host started.
The king stood up and went to the center of the stage. He addressed us with his loud voice, "To the 16 schools who are participating in the last trial, congratulations. It is not easy to surpass the other schools that is why, even if you are eliminated, you'll still get rewards."
"If you lose in today's elimination round. The eight schools will be given a bronze-ranked artifact at your own choice. Now, let the trials commence."
Magical Artifacts are one of the things that any people needed. It can vary to clothes, weapons or jewelry. Anything is a magical artifact if it has unusual effect on the owner. There are rings who can increase accuracy or boots with enhanced speed.
Just like abilities, magical artifacts are also determined on how powerful it is by its level. The most common and the lowest ranked artifact is bronze-ranked. Bronze-ranked artifacts cost 10- 15 gold depends on the artifact or its effects. Despite being the lowest, many uses this because the others ranks are too expensive.
Silver-ranked artifacts costs 25- 40 gold.
Gold-ranked artifacts cost 50-100 gold.
Platinum-ranked and diamond-ranked artifacts can't be bought by money. It is priceless, can only be exchange by huge favors.
If they've given this generous rewards, what do you think will they give if you were not eliminated immediately? What if your team won? A gold-ranked artifact? Impossible. Even some Expert Levels don't have silver-ranked artifacts, why would they give students whose levels aren't that much?
"Now, the 16 schools will be paired to each other. The loser will be eliminated while the winner would advance to the second day of the elimination which is tomorrow. Let's draw lots."
He brought a table with two big screens at the top. The screens has question marks but the center of the two screens has the word VS. At the table is a button.
"If I press this button, a team will pop on the first screen then followed by their opponents on the second screen. Let's begin."
I haven't got the time to check out the other 15 school but I was surprised to find out, ThunderBlaze Academy is one of the qualified teams. Remember the idiots who electocuted their own teammates underwater? Yup. They are here. They are paired to a school called Church of Light.
The host pushed it again and came out on the first screen is the CrystalClear Academy for Girls. The second screen started to roll and our team popped out.
The stage was still set up at the center and the empty ground beside it are now occupied with arenas. Four on the left and four on the right. This arenas are labeled with numbers where all odd are located in the left side and all even numbers are at the right side.
We were assigned at the second arena. All participants are now situated on their respected arenas. Each arena has a referee to supervise the team fights, ensuring no permanent damages and deaths would occur.
The referee signalled for us two teams, "Team captains, please meet in the center."
The tallest among the girls walked in front. She has a cold look which suited her very much. She is like Jane but Jane scares off any suitors but this girl is a bit different i think.
Our team captain is Anthony. They shook hands then went back to their own positions.
The referee snapped his fingers starting the competition. They made the first move, the girl on the furthest back began to twirl. A blizzard started to pour which slowed us and we are unable to see clearly. Ice spikes came to our direction, but we already dodged it before coming in contact.
With Michael's nullifying ability, the blizzard stopped all of a sudden and Jane started to tranform. Her hair became fire and her eyes glowed like embers in a campfire. Raphael used his amplifying ability making Jane's fire hair turn blue and improve Anthony's brain powers.
CrystalClear Academy is a school who only accepts girls with water and ice elemental affinities. The five girls in front has the following elemental affinity. The twirling girl who started the blizzard is an Ice Elemental. Also the girl who attacked us with the ice spikes. The rest are Water Elementals.
Michael disabled one of the Ice Elemental and one Water Elemental. Michael charged at the twirling girl while Raphael on the disabled Water Elemental. I charged on one of the girls with Water Elemental who specializes on long range.
One girl was kneeling holding her head. Looks like Anthony's attack was effective on this girl. She's got low mind defences. Jane was on a disadvantage with the Water Elemental, Anthony noticed this and send a message to Michael.
Michael stopped his ability on the twirling girl and focused on the Water Elemental who's fighting with Jane.
The girl I'm facing was desperate to get away from me but I did not allow it.
They say that true men should not hit girls but I was taught by my parents that I should attack anyone that will threaten me and I trust my parents more than the others.
I hit her head and she fell unconscious. At the end, we won. Anthony attacked his opponent till unconscious and Jane defeated her enemy after Michael disabled her opponents ability. Michael and Raphael fought to a standstill with their opponents but we helped them making them surrender.
"Arena 2. Winner ADELA." The referee announced.
A/N I don't have any idea how to name the schools. I would just laugh at myself for thinking this lame names.
