Chapter 12

I handed him my card. "Tell what do you see."

"Well, the usual. Why? Is there a problem?"

I pointed at the abilities and the innate. "Here can you read this?"

"I dont know what the problem is Sky. The only thing i can see is what you told us, Maximum thats all."

"Really? You did not see anything else?"

He just shook his head with worry in his eyes. He's really concerned.

"Okay. I don't what is happening but Maximum is not the only ability that is in my card. There's another one."

I decided to tell him about Guardian Summoner and not the others. He might think that I'm a freak.

"You sure? They say that there are certain things that can't be recorded on this card. Tell me, what ability is it."

"Well its called Guardian Summoner or something."

"Guardian Summoner? Never heard of that. Let's just search at the library."

We hurriedly went to the library. After seeing how enormous the library looks. My first thought was 'How am I supposed to find information about Guardian Summoners?' Im not even exaggerating. There too many that I'll get old if I read all of them.

My brother did not led me directly to the shelves but to a woman who's sitting quietly with an open book on her table.

"Excuse me"

The librarian looked up to face my brother, she looked like we just murdered her cat. Probably because we just disturbed her peace. There aren't too many students that come here. It is not only because they're lazy but also because the librarian stingy.

"What?" She snapped.

"Can you tell us what section where we can find information about summoners?"

She rosed her eyebrow on him and then shrugged. She gave us the section number then shooed us away as if we have a contagious disease.

From millions of books, we narrowed it down to just thousands. All kinds of information can be found about summoners.

It is said that Summoning is one of the Ancient Magic but many don't believe it, there's just too many people who can do summoning.

They say that Ancient Magic are magic of the Gods. So who would believe that Summoning is one of the Ancients when its too scattered? Who knows?

There are many kinds of summoning. There are summoners where the summoned is already his property starting from his birth. Like Jane and Bradley, they can summon dragons and demons already after knowing they have the ability.

There is also the contractual summoning. You make a contract with a beast, if it agrees, then you can have it. It can be done by fusing each others blood and circulate it to your whkle body. But what beast would agree? None so the other kind of summoning ia the force contract. After defeating a beast, it would still not submit. They'd rather die than become a humans puppet. Magical beasts are prideful creatures.

So they created a special stone where a magical beast is kept after being weaken. The stone would erase the memories of the beast and thus, will become loyal to whose blood is drip on the stone.

Contractual beasts are extremely loyal to summoner. They will always protect you even if they get bruises all over their body or even if the enemy is thirty times bigger than he is. The forced beasts on the other hand, though loyal, but when exposed to extreme fear, would flee. There loyalty is not enough to sacrifice themselves to their owner. One thing in common between them is that once the summoned beast is dead, it's forever dead.

Summoning is actually very lame. Anyone can learn it, even if you're just a normal person without any capabilities. All you need is a summoner stone which cost 50 gold -a huge sum- and a subdued magical beasts. It should still be alive.

There no other information about summoners that I've found. There are only information about people who subdued majestic beasts. One actually got himself a frost wyvern. A big creature who can destroy a city in an hour. Others had fire maned horse, one of the fastest beasts on land.

After skimming and scanning different books, i found this small book where the author wrote down his experiences in his journey. The authors name is Marty. I looked at the Table of Contents to see anything worthwhile. I was about to close the book and change to another one but in the corner of my eye, I read the word Summoner. I quickly opened the page where the article is located. The title of the page title is 'Strange Summoner'.

While he was travelling. He met a man with a magical beast on his shoulder, its a pig nosed monkey.

He was fishing in the river but man shooed him away saying that this is his place. That his emptying his river. Of course, the author of the book, Marty refused. He said that nobody owns this river so he's free to fish all he want. The mysterious man got angry. As a middle ranked Advanced magician, Martys not afraid in a fight especially when he trains on the element of air. The nimblest of all elements which ables him to escape easily if he's in danger.

All of a sudden, a glowing book appeared onn the man's hands. Light came out from it and appeared a Windwolf. It lunged on him. He's timing was just perfect, if a second he was late in dodging. He would have already become a rotting corpse. He can't do anything to the Windwolf so he targeted the man. Before he could attack, a strange barrier erupted in front of the man with a strange golden hue. He cannot break it. It seems indestructible. Marty was forced to flee.

That's all? I looked around for another story about the strange summoner but i can't find anything at all. Sigh. I guess I'll have to look in another day.
