The long dark wood table intimidated you to say the least. Not to mention the individuals who sat at it with eyes that said, 'I have murdered someone.'
You swallowed the lump in your throat and took a seat at the very end of the table. All eyes were on you.
Him. The one everyone is afraid of. 'He Who Shall Not Be Named.' Voldemort, if you will. A smile began to grow on The Dark Lords face. "Death Eaters, and those to be," He spoke slowly, making sure he had everyone's attention by looking at each of them.
Your eyes followed Voldemort's, examining each unfamiliar figure. You stopped at one. You thought you were the youngest, though you still might be, but there was one boy who looked just about your age. His Hair white, and his skin just as pale. He sat staring aimlessly at the dark oak of the table with a faint scowl on his face. He, too, obviously did not wish to be here.
The boy must have sensed you, because his ice cold blue eyes flicked to yours. You let out a faint smile but he looked away.
"Our newest member to be!" The Dark Lord continued getting louder for more emphasis. He gestured a hand to you. "(Y/N+Y/L/N)!"
You uncomfortably adjusted in your seat when all eyes were on you once more.
"(Y/N) will be attending Hogwarts schooling with Young Mr. Malfoy until plans are put into play."
The boy looked at you again, Malfoy. You thought. It suits him. Now all you needed was a first name.
You nodded again, knowing your part in the situation. Not that you liked it, but you did get to work with this 'Malfoy.' You were relieved to know you wouldn't be completely alone in this.
The meeting was soon dismissed and just about everyone left. The Malfoy's stayed to talk to Voldemort; as did you.
While the Malfoy boy's parents chatted with the Dark Lord, you and the suited boy were left to stand in awkward silence. After a moment, he spoke. "Draco, Draco Malfoy."
You smiled at the release of tension. After you introduced yourself, the two of you took moments to find words again.
Draco looked over towards the chatty adults then back you you. "Why did you join?" He asked, almost angrily."Its not like I chose to be." you mumbled lowly.
More silence.
"Me either." He finally whispered back.
You looked at the boy who was now fidgeting with his suit. What to say now?
Draco's parents and Voldemort were finishing up their conversation and began to slowly walk over to the two of you.
"Maybe we could help each other?" Draco quickly added.
"Definitely." You nodded, internally relieved it wouldn't be so awkward- or so you thought in the moment.
"This doesn't make us friends." Draco said straitening up. His personality getting cold once more when the adults met up with you. You were confused to say the least, but waved it off, smiling as Voldemort began to approach.
"You will be going with the Malfoys tonight. When morning comes, you will be officially enrolled at Hogwarts. The two of you, try to stick together." Voldemort looked to you then Draco and back to you. You had no other options, so you agreed.
