You didn't want tension, but of course there was. You sat across from Draco at the dinner table, with his parents at either side of the table's head spots. You swallowed nervously at the silence as you all waited for the food to be served. Narcissa, Draco's mom, decided to lighten the situation with a smile. She then spoke. "How was your first day at Hogwarts?" She unfolded her napkin and placed it on her lap."Dreadful, more than usual." Draco answered for you.
Lucius offered Draco a glare, both their ice blue eyes fighting each other's. "I believe your mother asked (Y/N)." Lucius turned his head to you, as to say "go on."
You offered a polite smile. "It was..." You searched for the right words. Other than Draco being rude to you, the over all day wasn't completely horrible. "Very nice, actually." You answered, taking a sip of your sparkling water that was presented in a crystal wine glass.
Draco continued to scowl at you before speaking. "She was talking with Potter." He finally spoke, perking up a bit with a smirk. Lucius and Narcissa exchanged glances, and Narcissa pursed her lips not wanting to speak.
Lucius straightened a fork on his left side, then looked to you. "Is this true, that you were befriending Harry Potter?"
You looked to Mrs. Malfoy. She had her head slightly downward, avoiding eye contact. You looked back to Draco, who had his arms crossed, still smirking. Lucius took this as an obvious yes.
He then spoke again. "We do not associate with anyone but pure bloods, and especially not Harry Potter."
"Yes, sir." Was all you could say. Though you had hundreds of questions, including 'Why?'
Draco snickered at your defeat and Lucius snapped him a look and Draco instantly shut up.
Soon after, the food was served, you ate, then you were off to bed. All you could do was lay there staring at the ceiling, wondering if there was going to be this constant petty war between the two of you. You then drifted to a deep sleep.
