11- Remember to forget

Davina and Jaden together. Kissing in the middle of the hallway, in front of everyone, shamelessly. I can't get the image out of my head.

That's definitely Davina's thing. She likes to pull stunts like that in the locker hallways. It's a regular thing for the student body to see. I just didn't expect Jaden to go along with it.

I knew he was a flirt and all but I figured he would've had at least an ounce of self respect within him. And also some respect for girls as well seeing as he acted so decently with me last night. Saying its so wrong to abduct a girl despite her being pretty and all that verbal crap.

River is always right. I need to start listening to him more. Jaden doesn't have good intentions. He is just like any other guy in the school, I honestly think he could be worse than Samuel.

After they stopped kissing, the guys and some girls began to wolf whistle and cheer them on. Jaden man hugged and high-fived a few guys before holding Davina's hand as they both walked out of the corridor smiling. It was cute, but because it's Davina I know it won't last long.

As for Jaden he made friends pretty damn quickly, regarding that it was his first day. Well he doesn't need me anymore.

I didn't see Jaden for the rest of the day, even at lunch, Davina and Jaden were nowhere to be found. Zachary wasn't present either, he just seemed to disappear after I saw him in English this morning... Which I don't actually mind. Seeing him makes me think of scenarios involving a machete and a frying pan.

I wait for Heather and Josh to come over while I lounge around the house eating an Icy-pole.

Finally they both get here and we set ourselves up in my room.

"Okay before you go onto other topics, tell us where you were hiding today" Josh starts, spreading himself out on my bed like the sloth he is.

"Yeah tell us" Heather agrees enthusiastically.

"Nope!" I say popping the p.

"Aww come on Athena"
"What a fucking killjoy" Josh throws a fluffy pillow at my face.

"If you keep throwing my own pillows at me I won't ever tell you" I throw the pillow back at Josh.

"They're called throw pillows for a reason" he states

"She's not going to tell us Josh, I already tried to get it out of her today. You know how she is. If it's no it means never." Heather explains. Ahh she knows me too well.

I smile goofily at Heather who rolls her eyes and then at Josh who gives me a dirty look. Prick

"Hello extended family" River walks in to my room still wearing his work clothes.

"Hey big bro!" Both Heather and Josh exclaim. Yeah they both have like this weird bond with my brother, where they consider him as their older brother as well. It's weird but kinda cute.

"Did you guys do a lot of learning today?" He asks standing by the door casually. He always does this when my two friends are over, it's like a routine.

"Well Athena did a lot of hiding today" Heather laughs.

River looks at me confused.

"You didn't bunk school did you" he asks suspiciously raising an eyebrow.

AS IF! I might be a crazy demigod but I totally would not break the school rules! Well most of them atleast.

"Hell no. Do you honestly think I'm that much of a trouble maker RIV?" I raise my eyebrow back at him.

"No she was just trying to get away from Davina and her new catch." Josh smirks knowingly.

"Whose it this time?" River rolls his eyes. Yeah he knows like all of my friends, that's my protective older brother for you. Atleast I know if there's a terrorist attack at my school
River would be there to save all of us in a flash.

"Jaden Kingsley, he's a new guy" Josh continues, shrugging as if he DIDNT just ruin my life.

Fuck! I wasn't going to tell River that Jaden went to my school... I mean I don't want another confrontation.

River stiffens up and his expression turns stone cold, as if he saw a ghost or something

"Jaden Kingsley huh, Athena?" River looks at me sternly.

"I didn't even know that he was going to come to my school!" I back myself up. I hardly even spoke to him, river can't blame me for Jaden's decision to come to Berkeley College.

"Well I hope you're staying away like I told you to"

"Wait do you guys know him?" Heather questions, looking back and forth between me and River. Josh just looks confused as hell.

"Oh Athena didn't tell you?" River fakes disbelief. Dog move.

Josh and Heather shake theirs heads in response.

"Well I guess you have some catching up to do little sister, I'll leave you guys to it" River smiles the most menacing smile, before he leaves the room with a skip in his step.

Gosh he just loves to make my life miserable doesn't he? And you know what makes me even more miserable? When I doubted him but he had been right all along.

"Now what have you been hiding you demonic pizza goddess" Josh sits up.

"Okay well Jaden, the new guy,lives next door. He works at Luigi's, and I let him in to my house last night and River started a confrontation with him" I say quickly, hoping that they missed the middle part.

"Why did you let him in!?" Heather asks with her eyes wide open.

I begin to explain my actions "His friend threw his phone into my backyard, so I was helping him find it. It was totally professional and neighbourly" minus the part where I mentally drooled over his toned biceps and gorgeous facial features.

"Wow and you totally acted like you didn't know him!" Josh says with a surprised smile on his face.

"Actually he acted like he didn't know me" I explain.

Wait did he?

"No. you didn't even look at him yet he was staring at you the whole time when we were in the cafeteria" Heather emphasises.

He was looking at me? I'm sure Heather is mistaken. He definitely must've been looking at Davina. But then again I do remember he was so curious as to why I was leaving the table to go library.

"Wait why does River want you to stay away from him?" Josh questions

"Because apparently he's a heartbreaker, he has bad intentions and he's not good news" I repeat everything that River had said to me last night.

"It sounds to me like our big bro River can see through Jaden pretty well" Heather laughs

"Hahaha I know he says he can tell by looking at him, but you should've seen how tense he became when he first saw Jaden in the backyard, like he was a past enemy or something" I laugh innocently.

"Are you sure River doesn't know this guy?" Josh asks me and this time he doesn't laugh or have a smile on his face, his expression has turned completely serious and thoughtful...
