"No."she answered straight and blunt. Mr. Bayer looked taken aback by her answer. It wasn't like Lex to answer so rudely. "Your not then are you? Well then would you like to step into the hallway for a minute?" Mr. Bayer said, trying not to ask her what's going on in front of the class. "Nope." Lex answered. She was too annoyed to deal with her teacher at this moment.
Mr. Bayer called Caroline and when Lex got home sure enough, her mom AND dad were right there waiting for her. Lex was so surprised that her mom actually took the rest of the day off to come home and scold her daughter. Sure it wasn't the best thing, but it was a start. "Alexurania Cordilia Sterling! What do you think you are doing?" Lex didn't have time for her mother's new found negative attention towards her. She was now upset that her mother shows up when she gets in trouble, but not when she gets hit by a car. "Walking." Lex responded and walked right passed her towards her room. Caroline was so shocked and so was Lex's father, Adrian. Lex didn't care. She felt she didn't owe her mom or dad anything. After all, they didn't go visit her in the hospital. She opened the door to her room, her only safe space, and put her things on the ground. She was to tired to think anymore. Tired of doing everything with no help. She lied on her nice, cloud like lavender comforter and stared at the ceiling. She wasn't going to try anymore. No more Ms. Nice Lex.
She woke up late the next day and didn't go to school. Not that her parents noticed, they always expected her to go to school and be a good girl that they didn't actually notice if she did or didn't. She called her aunt over and "explained" why she wasn't at school. Liz didn't care though. She was just glad that Lex was becoming a not so goody goody. They went to the nearest mall. At first they hit all of Lex's usual stores. Sweater Hut, Reader's Quarters, and the store that Lex goes to only dream of the things she could never have, Punk Warthog. Lex didn't get anything at the other two stores like she usually did. But she did have a spark of sudden courage to actually buy something at Punk Warthog.
As soon as Lex and Liz walked in they could smell the sent of an abandoned warehouse. The walls were covered with all sorts of things. The right wall was divided into two parts. The top part was covered in rows of pictures of tee shirts and the bottom half was covered in rows of shelves, staked with tee shirts folded neatly and some not so neat. The left wall had multiple different objects. One section had shelves piled with Serket Figures. Another had themed clothing and shoes. And everything in the middle of the store was always changing. Lex headed over to her favorite section to look at, the Deathly Cute clothes.
To put it blatantly, the Deathly Cute clothes are for people who are confident in their body and don't mind showing it off. Lex always liked to look at the clothes, but knew that she would never buy them. Her mom would have a cow if she saw her wearing on of those outfits. Liz came over to be by Lex's side. "Why don't you try one on?" Liz asked. Lex looked at her like she was crazy, then she decided to actually grab one, or two. She headed straight for the dressing rooms. She had a quick thought about it then through all care to the wind. She walked out of the dressing room in a short tangerine dress with a sweetheart neckline that went to her mid thigh. It has black rhinestones covering the bodice with small gaps in between where the tangerine color peaks through. Liz was so in ah at the way her niece looked. She whistled and Lex laughed. Liz was right though. Lex looked absolutely adorable. She looked in the mirror and...BAM! It hit her. She looked GORGEOUS! "Buy it." Liz said completely serious. Lex gave her the look of- are you mad? Liz replied with, "Well then what are we here for? Every time we come to the mall we always come to this store and we always leave without a single item." Lex decided to grab a "couple" more things.
When they left, Lex carried a bag with the tangerine dress and two other ones. She also bought a few choice accessories.
