As Lex walked the cement path that led to the school, she took in her surroundings. It was the same as always. Tree hear, tree there. The only real difference was the placement of everyone. Oh and Axul's current fling. Axul Mitch. Bad in every way possible. Bad boy. Bad influence. Bad news. On his arm was some blonde freshman dressed in clothing that two sizes too small. He was talking to his friends by the oak tree, his usual place of hanging, while the girl left kisses up his arm. Her rosy pink lip gloss leaving a trail of where her lips had previously been. Lex pondered how someone could stand so much lip gloss. On their lips. On their arm. Lex wondered how long this one would last before Axul moved on to someone new.
The first half of the school day was the same as usually. Go to class. Bell rings. Go to other class. Listen to the smart kids make teachers proud. Go to class. Duh, duh duh, duh duh. The best part of her day was lunch. And that's not even so great.
Lex was currently cramped on the edge of a small piece of cement in the middle of the road. It was already tiny and the island was way over crowded. Too many people had thought 'I can make it'. They did not make it. Some guys were messing around, pushing each other and laughing at the other when they almost fell into the street. Lex glanced at them and imagined what Raven would say. Those morons couldn't find a better place to try and kill each other?
Lex felt her self propelling forward, stepping off the sidewalk mound, and onto the asphalt. One of the boys had used her for support. Pushing her to keep his own balance. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw a yellow buggy bulleting to make the light. It was headed straight for her. The sound of screaming as well as screeching tires filled her ears. She closed her eyes and braced for the impact of the hard metal.
