The Beginning

(Wade)" Oh my god, I'm so freaking bored. Ms. Anderson got us doing this dumb project."
(Kate)" Shut up Wade, it's an easy project anyways."
(Wade)" I guess it would be a little bit easier if Andrew and Danny was here to help us. Out of all four of us, Danny is the smartest and I don't see him anywhere."
(Kate)" It's only 15 minutes into class, they'll be here. They know this is important."
Today, me and my girlfriend Kate are in math class. We go to school at Woodfall High School in New Jersey. We're waiting for our friends to get to class so they can help us on this project we were supposed to do.
I look over to my friend Nick at the table next to us.
(Wade)" Yo Nick, have you seen Danny or Andrew in school today?"
(Nick)" You haven't heard what happened to Danny yesterday?"
(Kate)" What are you talking about?"
(Nick)" I saw on the news yesterday that a fire started in Danny's room. Almost burned down his whole house."
(Wade)" Are you serious?"
(Ms.Anderson)" Guys, you should be working on your project, not talking to the other tables."
I turn back to Kate thinking about what Danny is going through right now.
(Wade)" What the fuck? How the hell didn't I know about this?"
(Kate)" I didn't know about it either. I can't imagine what he's going through right now. First, his father disappeared. Then, his mom began to drink alot and now his house almost gets burned down."
(Wade)" This is freaking crazy. I need to go to his house after school."
Just then, the door to the classroom opens and Danny walks into the room. Almost everyone in the class looks at him but he just looked at the ground and walked to our table and sat in his seat.
(Wade)" Dude, are you okay? I heard what happened."
Danny was sweating everything and continued to tap his desk. I could tell he wasn't okay.
(Danny)" What? Yeah, I'm fine."
Ms.Anderson began to walk over to Danny holding a card in her hand.
(Ms.Anderson)" Hi Danny, I heard what happened. This is my card with my number on it. Call me if your ever feeling down or if you need help with anything."
She hands him the card and he takes it.
(Danny)" Thank you, Ms.Anderson."
She nods then walks away.
(Kate)" Danny, you know we can help you out. If there's anything we can do, just tell us."
(Danny)" Actually, is Andrew here today? I need to talk to him about something."
(Kate)" No, we haven't seen him."
He looked like he hadn't slept in days. He had bags under his eyes and I could tell he was struggling to keep his eyes open.
(Wade)" Danny, go to the bathroom and clean your face. You look like you haven't slept in days."
(Danny)" Yeah, your right. I'll be right back."
He gets up, grabs the bathroom pass, and walks out the room to go to the bathroom. I could tell their was something very wrong with him and I knew Kate was thinking the same.
