My heart dropped. What was going on with Danny?
The doctor and I run to Danny's room. I see doctors and nurses hovering over Danny trying to save him. Danny was shaking a lot in his bed. I look at the heart rate monitor. His heart rate was at 114. Something else catches my eye. I see Kate unconscious on the floor. I run up to her and start shaking her. She had a huge gush of blood on her forehead like someone hit her on her head.
(Wade)" Kate?! Wake up!"
A couple more nurses comes in the room with a hospital bed and picks her up and puts her on the bed.
(Wade)" Be careful with her!"
They took her out the room, probably to help her. I stood in the room. I wanted to see if Danny is okay. A nurse sees me in the room.
(Nurse)" What are you doing in here? You need to leave now."
(Wade)" That's my best friend!"
(Nurse)" I'm sorry but you need to leave."
She pushes me out the room and close the door. The door and windows was see through so I could still see inside.
Danny was still shaking in the bed, his heart rate now at 127. Then about 5 seconds later, his heart rate flat lines and Danny stops shaking. My heart stops. I start banging on the window.
(Wade)" SAVE HIM!"
Dr. Roberts takes out a defibrillator and puts it on his chest.
(Dr. Roberts)" Clear!"
Danny's chest raises up.
(Dr. Roberts)" Again! Clear!"
Danny's chest raises up again.
(Dr. Roberts)" Come on Danny! Clear!"
The same thing happened. I look at his heart rate monitor. It was still flat lined. I see Dr. Roberts put down the defibrillators.
(Dr. Roberts)" That's it, guys. Time of death 10:54 am."
I slowly walk to the closet bench and sit down. I put my hands on my face and begin to cry. About 10 seconds later, someone puts there hand on my shoulder. I look up at the person. It was Ms. Shaw, Danny's mom.
(Ms. Shaw)" Hey, Wade. What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
I see her face turn from concerned to frightened.
(Ms. Shaw)" What's wrong with Danny?!"
(Wade)" I'm sorry, Ms. Shaw."
You can hear my voice crack.
(Ms. Shaw)" Danny?!"
She runs into Danny's room. I see her drop to the floor and start yelling and crying. Danny was dead.
