Luke + His Daughter

"Katie! It's time to go!"

Standing at the bottom of the stairs is Luke, waiting for his two and a half year old daughter.  He has to go to the studio to record with the boys today, and since you're always left with Katie at home, Luke could sense it was stressing you out and insisted you go out with your friends. 

Running down the stairs, Katie jumps up and down, saying, "Are you making songs today, Daddy?"

Luke smiles, leaning down to pick her up.

"Yup! Now, say bye to Mommy." he says.

"Bye Mommy." she says, Luke bringing her closer to you so she can give you a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye, Katie. Have lots of fun, okay? And behave." you tell her.

"Okay, Mommy."

"Alright. Do you have Princess?" Luke asks Katie.

Princess is a doll she got for her birthday and she can't go anywhere without her.

"Yup!" she cheers, showing Luke the doll.

Luke smiles, tells you bye, and walks out the door.

He buckles Katie up in her seatbelt before getting in the drivers seat and driving to the studio.

Luke walks in with Katie, holding her hand.

The first thing heard is a loud "Aww!" from Michael.

Michael walks over, saying, "Hello little one."

Katie just stares at him as if he grew an extra head.

Ashton and Calum walk over, both smiling when they see Katie.

"Hi, Katie! How are you?" Ashton asks her.

"Hi." she says quietly.

"Oh, that's not fair! She'll say hi to you but not me?" says Michael, sounding offended.

"Sorry my daughter thinks you're a weirdo." says Luke.

"Huh, Katie? Is Mike a weirdo?"

She giggles, smiling widely, saying, "Mike is a weirdo!"

"Hey, Katie, do you like candy?" Michael asks.

"Yes!" she cheers, getting excited.

"If you say I'm cooler than Luke, I'll give you some candy."

"Michael, you can't just bribe a two year old." says Ashton.

"Candy! I want candy!" Katie says excitedly as Luke puts her down.

"Okay, but first, you gotta say I'm cooler than Daddy." Michael tells her.

"Mikey is cooler than Daddy." she giggles.

"Michael, you don't-"

"Okay, here you go." says Michael, reaching in his pocket and handing her a Snickers bar.

"What the f- where did that come from?" Luke asks in disbelief.

"Just had it around." Michael shrugs.

Luke glares at Michael, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Daddy, can you open this?" Katie asks, handing him the candy bar.

Luke sighs and opens it for her.

"What do you say?" he asks her.

"Thank you." she responds with a mouthful of the Snickers.

"Okay, Katie, I'm gonna go sing some songs, okay? Just stay right here and don't go anywhere else, okay?" Luke tells her.

She nods, saying, "Okay, Daddy."

Luke smiles at her before going into the recording room with the boys.

As they're recording, Katie gets lost in her own little world with her doll.  She holds onto the doll and pretends the doll is dancing.

After a while, Katie gets tired of sitting on the floor and looks up at the chair behind her.  She tries to get herself up, but ends up slipping and hitting her cheek on the small table beside the chair, immediately causing her to burst into tears.

Luke stops singing and so do the other boys.

"Katie? What happened?" Calum asks as he walks over to her.

"I g-g-got a-an owie!" she sobs.

"Aww, here let me help you." he says, kneeling down to pick her up.

But she stops him, slapping his hand and screaming, "No! I want Daddy!"

Not sure what to do, Calum just stands back up as Luke walks over to her.

"Katie, we do not hit. Now, where's your owie?" he says, picking her up.

"Here." she mumbles, pointing to where she hit her cheek.

There's a little mark, but it's nothing bad.

"Okay, shh, it's okay. You're okay. It's just a little owie." Luke tells her, pushing a piece of hair out of her face.

"O-Okay." she says, starting to calm down.

"Why don't you come watch us sing some songs?" he suggests.

And with that, Katie nods and Luke takes her in the recording room where she stays silent, eventually smiling and giggling when Luke and the boys act goofy and say silly things just to cheer her up.
