Kejuan

I stepped into the house, and it was quiet.

I was down at RCA all day with Bryson and Harley, so I knew that Sianna was with Keshawn.

I went upstairs, and looked into Keshawn's room to see that it was empty.

I furrowed my eyebrows, and went into our room.

Sianna was asleep with her head resting on Keshawn's stomach.

"I love my family, man" I got out my phone to take a picture.

Keshawn's hand went up, and a stuffed bumble bee was being swung around.

I carefully removed him from underneath of her, and took him outside.

He walked down the stairs, dragging his toy, and holding my hand.

Keshawn counted the stairs as we stepped down each one, but once he got to as high as he could count, he started over.

I sat him down on the counter, and got two spoons out, going to the freezer.

"I get a bowl, daddy. Mommy not like that"

"You keeping me in check. I guess I'll follow the rules too"

"Mommy sad" He said, and pulled off the lid to the ice cream.

"She told you that?" I questioned.

"No, but I stay with her when she cry and play in her hair"

"I appreciate you, Keshawn. Thank you"

He grabbed onto my face, and gave me a kiss.

"My mommy pretty. Why she sad, daddy?"

"She is beautiful, isn't she? We're lucky to have her"

"I ask her what wrong, and she hugged me and went to sleep. I stay up the whoooole time with my toys"

"You didn't take a nap today?"

He shook his head no, and picked out an oreo before putting it in his mouth.

"No, I see over mommy"

He disregarded the whole spoon, and continued to pick the oreos out.

"You not tired?"

"I big boy" He yawned.

"Well I'm tired" I faked a yawn.

"I tired too, daddy! I not know how I did it"

"We ready to go get into the bed with her"

"Why mommy sad? You not answer me, and I fix it for her"

"You know how you get sad when you or Harley has to go home?"

"Uh huh. Mommy miss Harley?"

"Yes, but no. Mommy - well we all had someone leave us"

"When they be back, daddy?"

"They're not coming back. That's why mommy's sad"

"I call them and say 'pick up the phone, baby'. G daddy said that is how you get people to answer"

"Your G daddy ain't smart like me"

"Oooh. Okay" He pushed his bowl towards the sink, and I rinsed it out for him.

He hopped down from the counter, and ran off. "One second"

He came back carrying his green ball.

"Dis my favorite, I give it to mommy"

"I think mommy would want you to keep your ball"

"I get her a new, girl ball?" He questioned.

"If you want to, but how about we make her a card?"

"Oh, I good at cards, daddy. I gived you one in July"

"I remember, it was my birthday"

He looked up at me with tired eyes, and blinked slowly. "We make cards right now"

I laughed, and picked him up.

"Right after we go to sleep with mommy"
