RILEY and MAYA are sitting in the window, thinking. RILEY just told MAYA that she broke up with LUCAS.
MAYA: So... you guys are really done?
RILEY: (gradually nodding) Yup.
MAYA: Wow.
RILEY: What?
MAYA: Nothing, I just thought you guys would be together forever. The new "Cory and Topanga".
RILEY: I'm Cory, but Lucas isn't Topanga. He couldn't be.
MAYA: (turns to her) So he's not the love of your life. It seemed like things were going pretty good between you two. Your high school boyfriend doesn't have to be your soulmate, Riles. Your relationship was fine, why'd you have to end it?
RILEY: (thinks for half a second, then suddenly becomes overjoyed) Because, I'm in love, Maya. I don't mean high school "I love you", "I love you, too." I mean, I am in love with Farkle Minkus and I wanna be. There's no one else in the world for me and there never will be. I'm taken.
RILEY grins from ear to ear. MAYA smiles as well, seeing her friend so happy.
