When RILEY gets outside the bakery, LUCAS is already up the stairs, turning the corner. She tears up, angry with herself. She kicks the ground and screams a little bit in a very un-Riley way. She's getting closer to breaking. Finally, her anger out, she embraces her sadness. She falls onto a nearby bench in the corner of the patio and starts crying frustrated tears.

Suddenly, FARKLE appears.

FARKLE: Riley?

RILEY: Farkle. (she hurriedly wipes the tears from her face)

FARKLE: Hey. (quickly sits down beside her and tries to comfort her) What's wrong?

RILEY: (she looks into his eyes) I am a terrible person.

FARKLE: That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

RILEY: (tears wiped/dried, once again angry at herself) Well it's true. I said terrible things to Lucas and now he hates me. I hate me. Why couldn't I just have been happy? Why did I have to ruin everything and say those things and I am the worst--

FARKLE: Hey. Stop. You are not the worst.

RILEY: You don't even know what I've done, Farkle.

FARKLE: I don't care. You're not the worst. You're Riley Matthews. You're happy and lovable and amazing and you'll fix whatever you've done. You know why?

RILEY: Why?

FARKLE: Because no one is a better person than you, Riley Matthews. At least, not that I've ever met. And Lucas knows that. And he'll forgive you. If you're sorry.

RILEY: (half smile) Thanks, Farkle. You're an amazing person.

FARKLE smiles back at her. RILEY gets nervous, but knows that it's her moment. She closes her eyes and slowly leans in to kiss him...

FARKLE doesn't move. An inch from his lips, RILEY waits for him to fill the gap. After a second or two in that position, FARKLE remembers. He opens his eyes and pulls away, then gets up, practically tripping.

FARKLE: (mumbling) Sorry...

He runs away, up the stairs, leaving RILEY to consider what almost happened, and hate herself for it.
