"Wipe them, and start over."
No. The brunette's eyes widen in something like horror. No, you can't. She won't allow them to take her dreams of the blonde man away from her. She feels like she can almost remember his name, and she knows that if she does, she'll remember hers. But Frost is already strapped down. They're putting the Asset into his chair. She'll be next.
It's a vicious cycle, she thinks. The things she knows would make her human again, if she could just remember, are forever just a little beyond her reach. As soon as she makes a step forward, she takes two steps back. Maybe this is her destiny, to be trapped in an endless cycle of cold and pain. Maybe she is forever to be alone. Maybe it's no use fighting.
But she isn't alone. She has the Blonde Soldier.
That thought is all that keeps her from giving up as she is pushed down into the chair to be turned into a clean slate again.
