Chapter 30

“I’m coming whether you like it or not!” Star shouted at Echo, Rain Fox, and the adults.

“You’re out of your mind!” Rain Fox shouted. “I’m not going to be held responsible for you getting yourself killed, you understand me?”

“I’m with Rain Fox on this one,” Talon agreed, “There’s no way we’re letting kids go with us on a crazy chase throughout the British Ministry of Magic!”

     “Let them come,” Echo said.

“What did you just say?” Sky Heart asked, “I thought you said something mental, like you were going to let the kids come along to the Ministry.”

“We’re going to need all the help we can get!” Echo declared. “We need all wands on deck, if you know what I mean.”

“Have you been eating some strange mushrooms out there in the Bayou or wherever you were stashed?” Sky Heart asked.

“Echo’s got a point, darlin’,” Rider interceded, “You’ll need all the wands you can securely bring into the Ministry itself. Echo, Ravenus, Talon, Mared, Griff, and myself can’t even go near the vicinity of the Ministry without a bunch of red flags going up. We’re wanted wizards, remember?”

“Dang,” Ravenus Rouge said, “I didn’t even think about that.”

“That’s because you’re numb to it. You should be used to being a wanted wizard,” Griffin laughed.

Ravenus gave him a glare. Then he grinned. “Nice one, Griff.”

Rain Fox paced back and forth, wondering what to do next. “We need to weigh our options.”

“We don’t have time to weigh options, Fox,” Echo said. “We need to hurry and get down there!”

“Where are the Ministry offices located?” Mared asked. “Is there a way in that we can use without being seen?”

“Not really,” Rain Fox shook her head, “Both the Visitor’s Entrance and the Employee’s Entrance will be guarded.”

“We can use Dad’s stash of Polyjuice Potion!” Sky Heart said.

     “What’s Polyjuice Potion?” Dan asked.

“Polyjuice Potion!” Sam shouted. “Hells to the yeah! Y’all got a stash of it?”

Rain Fox gave a queer look at her sister. “Dad doesn’t have a store of Polyjuice Potion!” she said.

“Yes he does!” Sky Heart disagreed. “He used it when he and Mum were on the run. He used to use it for a few of his more risky outings.”

“How did you know all this?” Rain Fox asked.

“I used to use it to sneak out of the house late at night,” Sky Heart said reluctantly, blushing a little.

Rain Fox’s jaw dropped. “You little tart!”

“What?” Sky Heart defended herself. “Oh, like you never thought about sneaking out and having a go!”

“I thought about it, of course! I never actually did it!”

“Maybe you should have given it a go once or twice, love. Might loosen your robes a little, you know.”

     “You cheeky little-“

“Can we get back to the matter at hand, ladies?” Rouge asked.
