Phils pov
It was a sunny Saturday morning that I woke up, ready to leave for my mums house.
Today I was going to come out. I was in a relationship with my best friend.
A mix of worry and nervousness washed over me.
As I sat up, I felt Dan stir beside me.
"It's okay, you don't have to wake up yet" I reassured him.
"Don't go" he whimpered, grabbing my arm.
I very almost gave in, his chocolate brown eyes gazing back at me.
"I have to, remember?" I smiled.
Dan sighed, and turned over, his hair messed up and almost curly. His 'hobbit' hair.
I quickly got ready, and once I was showered, dressed, and had breakfast, I was almost on my way.
"Dan?" I asked, walking into his bedroom.
"Mm?" said Dan, half heartedly.
"I'm gonna get going now" I whispered.
"Good luck" he replied, sitting up and rubbing his eyes, "are you definitely sure that you don't want me to come with you?".
"I'm sure" I smiled.
I just wanted this to be quick and over with as soon as possible. I didn't want Dan to be there in case the worst came to the worst and my family didn't react the way I'm hoping they would. If they reacted badly towards it, and acted rather homophobic, then Dan being there would only make it worse.
I walked out of the door, locked it, and soon I was on my way.
Five minutes later
I was sitting on a bus, bored already of the fifteen minute journey to my mums house. I decided to plug my earphones in, and listen to a couple Muse and Fall Out Boy songs. They always made me feel better.
Fifteen minutes later.
Stepping off of the bus, I felt sick and alone. I needed Dan now more than I ever have before, but I just couldn't risk it if the worst came to the worst.
Knock knock knock.
My mum came to the door, first surprised, then grinning wildly.
"Phil!" she cheered, pulling me into a warm hug.
"What a nice surprise!"
"Hi Mum" I smiled shyly, I wasn't shy of my own mum, just of the statement soon to be told.
"Come in" she said, gesturing into the house.
I did as I was told, and soon we were sitting in the kitchen with cups of coffee and biscuits.
"Your Dad's out for the next few hours, but I'll tell him you stopped by, he would've been very happy to see you." she said, the happiness in her voice was heartbreaking.
I was afraid that I was going to be taking all of that happiness away soon.
"How have you been then?" I asked.
We made small talk and talked about our separate lives for an hour, me talking about the YouTube subscribers on my channel reaching a million. Her talking about by older brother Martin and his new girlfriend. That made my stomach churn, she was so pleased with him.
"But actually, I have came here to tell you something" I said, my voice breaking with worry.
"What's that then love?" she said, sipping her new coffee and nibbling on a biscuit.
"Well..me and, me and Da-"
"Spit it out love" she said, laughing sweetly.
I felt as if I was about to burst into tears, and my Mum could sense that too.
"Me and Dan..you know, the one I live with?"
"Yes I remember him"
"We-we're in a relationship" I said faintly, my head feeling light.
My Mum out her cup of coffee down, and looked me in the eyes.
"Oh love-" she started.
I burst into tears, the tension finally making me snap.
"I'm so sorry Mum" I whispered as she pulled me into a quick hug.
"What for Phil? It's your decision. And if you really love this boy, and he makes you happy, then that's all that matters" she soothed.
"Thanks for understanding Mum" I said, taken aback in surprise.
"Your father and I thought for a while that that was your way of coming out by moving in with him"
"We only started dating a month ago.. But I love him Mum, I really do. I've never felt this way about anybody in my life before"
"Then I support that"
I smiled, able to bring back my sanity before it was drowned permanently with worry and sick feelings.
"You're the best Mum ever" I said, hugging her tightly.
"And also an official Phan shipper" she said, laughing.
