My Aching Heart

Maya's POV
I wasn't sure if I was dreaming all of this or if it was actually happening. I was siting at Topanga's waiting for Josh to come back with our drinks. I never asked for this. I was finally over Josh and now I'm more confused than ever! I so badly wanted to go after Farkle and tell him everything but I couldn't do that to Josh.
"Hey I'm back. One Mango Pineapple smoothie for the lady," Josh says while giving me my smoothie. "Thanks Josh," I said with a smile. At this point I'm just forcing a smile. It's kinda hard to smile when you can't be with the guy you like. Wait! No Maya don't think like that! You are with the guy you like...right?
"So how have you been Maya?" Josh asks me. "Um I've been good actually." LIE.
"Well that's good. I'm really glad you said yes to giving us a chance." "It is what I've always wanted." Is it, Is it really! "Well I got to go but before I leave I want to ask you to be my date to Riley's Christmas party tomorrow night." Oh my gosh! I totally forgot! "Uh..Yeah sure I would love to go," I say kinda uncertain but I don't think he noticed. "Great I'll pick you up around 6:30." As soon as he left I headed to Riley's. I know she's my best friend but I'm going to kill her! I climb up the fire escape and knock on the window. She opens it up and as soon as she does I tackle her. "AHHH!" Riley screams. "You did this!" I say while getting of her. "Maya I did this for your own happiness," she says while getting up. "But what if this isn't what makes me happy?" "What are you saying?" She asks me. "I don't know. I must be crazy. Of course I'm happy with Josh." AM I REALLY! "Well that good. Now on to other business, my Christmas party is tomorrow and I have no idea what to wear." "Well let's go and find something to wear!" We head out to the mall and look for som outfits for us. We first head to Forever 21 and look for some dresses. Riley found this really pretty gold one. It was white from the top and silk, on the bottom it was a pencil skirt and it was pure gold sparkles. I found simple dress gold and sparkly from the top and a dark red from the skirt. After we payed we went to Dillard's to look for some shoes. She found simple nude heels and I found some sparky gold heels. We payed and headed back to the house. Riley lied on her bed look at hairstyles for us. I just sat at the bay window pondering on life. I think Riley noticed that I was kinda sad because she came over and hugged me. "Are you ok?" She asked. "Um, I don't know. I think I just need to go home and think." "Ok I'll see you tomorrow." I climb out the window and wave to Riley. I didn't want to go home cause I would just be all alone. My mom was on a trip with Shawn in London. I'm happy for my mom, she finally found her happily ever after. I didn't know where to go but this little feeling inside of my kept telling me to go over to Farkle's. Oddly enough I listened. I arrived at his door and rang his door bell. It took him a while to answer the door but I heard foot steps slowly approaching. He answered the door and I think he was sleeping because his hair was a mess. "Hey Maya," he said in a groggy voice. "Oh I'm sorry I woke you up. I'll just leave." I start to walk off but Farkle grabbed my hand. "No it's fine come on in. I could actually use the company," he says. I walk in and sit down on his couch. "Sorry about earlier," I say. "Oh no it's totally fine, I'm just glad you and Josh are finally together." Why does he have to be so darn supportive! "Oh thanks. He asked me to be his date to Riley's Christmas party tomorrow." Why did I just say that! Stupid stupid stupid! "Oh really, that's great. I actually decided to ask Smackle to be my date." He did what now?! Maya calm down, your with Josh now. "Oh well good for you. Um i think I should go now. Big day tomorrow." "Wait Maya what's wrong, did I do something?" He asks. "Uh um n-no you didn't do anything um I should yeah I should go," I say as I run out the door. I don't even tell my self not to cry cause you know what I've had a long and confusing day and I think I deserve to cry. I run home crying. The cold didn't make it any better. I had just have to face the facts.. me and Farkle were never going to be together.
