Daisy blinked at her phone a couple of times before processing what the texts read.
He told her that his parents were on vacation.
He told her that he was an only child.
Well it could be true.
Carson could be his friend or some book character right?
She closed her eyes and tried to calm herself down. She didn't know that that had happened in his life and felt like a complete jerk for treating him that way.
And she felt even worse when he was out drinking again. She was pretty sure Marie isn't going to step in to help Cody again..
She let a tear drop and groaned to herself. This time, she'd lose him for sure if she didn't find a way to get him back.
But she had no idea how to fix her mess.
