After fourth period, I went to the nurse because my ankle was killing me. "Ms. Shelia can I get some Advil, my ankle hurts." I asked sitting in the chair laying my head on the back of the chair. "Yeah, you okay sweetie? I can call someone to pick you up." She said handing me a cup and two pills, I just nodded not hearing what she said. I just wanted for my head and ankle to stop hurting. "Destiny are you okay?" She asked me, "Yeah, can you write me a note so I go home?" I asked standing up, leaning against the shelf. She handed me the note, I balanced myself so I wouldn't fall. "Destiny, are you sure you are okay? You are burning up." She said touching my forehead, I just wanted to go home and sleep until I had to pick up Trey. "Ms. Shelia, I'm fine just need some sleep." I said, walking outside the nurse each step I took made my ankle hurt more. I walked up to the front desk, handing in my note and walked to my car. Class had already started so it was only people who skip outside. Once I got into my car, my whole was in pain. Advil commercials provided false advertisement.

I pulled into my drive way, once again seeing no one was home. I know my parents aren't the best but, I still care for them. I tried not to think about the worst possible scenario knowing what the outcome would be. I walked inside thinking I could rest but, I was so wrong. There was my dad sitting on the couch with my mom right next to him. I knew they weren't high or drunk, after 8 years you notice the signs. "What are you doing home?" My dad asked me walking towards me, I flinched involuntary. My parents don't remember anything they do when they are high or drunk. The first time my dad hit me, the next day he thought someone attacked not knowing it was him. One time when my dad was away and my mother was high, she tried to put Trey in the oven while it was on. Luckily I was home and Trey was only a few months old so he wouldn't remember. She tried to make dinner, she had mistaken Trey for the chicken. When either of them were smashed I always keep an eye on Trey, I always fear the worst. "I wasn't feeling well, I got sent home." I said playing with the necklace, it like a anchor to me. "Are you okay? Do you have a fever?" My mom said, getting off the couch coming towards me. I know they won't hurt me, but I get mini panic attacks when ever they are close to me. "Yeah, I'm just going to take a nap." I said walking towards the stairs. "Alright. I'll wake you up when dinners ready, we have important news to tell you." My mom said walking over kissing my forehead. She hasn't done that since she was pregnant with Trey. I just nodded thinking of what is so important. If she was pregnant, I don't know what I would do.

Skipping the nap cause it's pointless

I woke up from my alarm, I had to go pick up Trey and then go to practice. I looked at my phone and noticed I got 10 missed calls and 25 text messages. I was in so much trouble. I walked to the bathroom showering to help with pain, I wasn't going to seat out practice, so I took some more medicine to help. I walked downstairs, I heard my parents voices but also a voice I didn't recognize. "Oh Destiny, good your up. You remember your uncle Peter?" my mom said turning towards a man who looked like he was in his mid 20s- early 30s. He looked familiar but, I couldn't remember.

"Rhonda, the last time she has seen was when she was 6 years-old." He said walking over to hug. I backed up, I don't like people hugging especially people I don't know. "Oh baby girl, you really don't remember me. We used to be so close, you were my snowflake." He said smiling and rubbing my wrists. I pulled away my wrists, "I have practice and I have to pick up Trey. I'll be back later." I said putting on my shoes and grabbing my keys out of the dish. "We can pick p Trey." my dad, I shook my head no I will never leave him alone with them. "It's fine, Coach T likes having him around." I said, my dad tensed up. My dad doesn't like Coach T because, my parents and coach all went to the same high school. Coach T and my mom were dating from freshman year to senior year. My dad planned for my mom to see Coach T cheating on her and swopped in taking her. Coach T didn't even cheat, but my mom is stubborn so she wasn't having it. I think what made it worst was that Coach T and my dad were best friends. Coach T never got married, but has two kids Noah and Ezra.

I think my mom still loves Coach T but, she doesn't want to admit it. I think of Coach T as more of a father figure than my dad honestly, but I will always love my dad. I looked at my dad, I knew he wanted to say something but just kept quiet. "That's fine, just come straight home after practice." My mom said. "You can invite Coach T for dinner. I haven't seen him in a while" Peter said, my dad looked like he wanted to kill him. "I don't think that will work." My dad said, looking at my mom. "And why not? Rhonda what do you think?" Peter said, my mom was between a rock and a hard place. "I don't see why not. He can come and so can his sons." She said walking out of the room. My dad head vein was sticking, I thought it was burst. "Well, I'll tell him. I have to go can't be late." I said walking to the car. "Wait Destiny. I need you to drive to the store, I'll walk the rest." Peter said. I nodded unlocking my car.

The drive to the store was 10 maybe 15 minutes tops. "Here you go." I said, parking my car. "Thanks snowflake, you've grown into a beautiful woman. I remember all the fun we use to have, well at least it was fun for me."  He said, getting out of the car. He smiled at me, walking the opposite way. I sat there thinking what he meant, I couldn't remember anything from my childhood that involved him. I pulled out of the parking lot, making my way to Trey's school. Peter's words playing in my head.
