The next day, it felt like I had butterflies swarming in my stomach.
I stood in line for 5 hours just to get into the building. 'God, a lot of people want to be on the X Factor.' I thought to myself.
We finally made it inside when I was finally torn away from the the awful line and put into a waiting room with a bunch of other kids my age. We waited there for about an hour until we were ushered into the hallway, they split th group in half, and they sent my half of the group to yet another waiting room. 'I don't have time for this.' I thought, getting a little pissed off at the people running this.
After yet another hour of waiting, we were ushers back out into the hallway, split up into four lines, and told to follow one of four people to get checked in. I followed them, got checked in and got my number.
37913212415 was my number. That's how many people have gone before me. That's how many people I have to compete against to win this thing. I felt the butterflies coming back, swarming in my stomach, making me queasy.
We were then ushered to yet another waiting room, where they started to call our numbers to preform. People were practicing doing vocal exercises, and prepping themselves for what was about to come.
I, on the other hand, just sat there, to nervous to do anything else.
"37913212415!" A stern looking lady called about a half an hour later.
I got up, forced myself to walk over to the door, and follow the lady backstage.
"Stay here." She said without looking at me, and stepped onto the stage. She came back momentarily, handed me a mic, a told me to step onto the stage.
I stepped onto the stage, my whole body shaking. I saw three people I had never see before, behind the table in front of the stage. I was to nervous to care anyway.
"Name?" The man on the left ask, looking through her file.
"Ana Nunez." I responded, my voice cracking a little.
"Go ahead." He said, gesturing for me to start singing. I put the mic up to my mouth, but nothing came out. 'Pull it together.' I told myself , and finally found my voice.
"I've never seen a diamond In the flesh." I started, a little weakly.
"I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies." I sang, starting to feel less nervous.
"And I'm not proud of my address, in the torn up town, no post code envy." I sang, putting my heart and soul into it.
"But ever songs like gold teeth, grey goose, tripping in the bathroom, bloodstains, ball gowns, trashing the hotel room, we don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams. But every body's like crystal, maybach, diamonds on your timepiece, jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash, we don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair. And we'll never be royals, it don't run in our blood, that kinda lux just ain't for us, we crave a different kinda buzz. Let me be your ruler, you can call me queen bee, and baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, let me live that fantasy." I finished, feeling really good about what I had done.
"You are free to go. We'll call you if you made it." The man said without looking up from his papers, and I walked off the stage, pretty sure I didn't make it.
I ran outside, reached for my phone in my pocket, when I realized it wasn't there.
"Shit!" I said, realizing it must have fallen out when I was running. I went back inside to look for it when I say a guy running towards me. He stopped in front of me and asked," Is this your phone?" He held out my phone but I was too stunned to speak. This guy was... beautiful. He had a bleach blond quiff, with dark roots, and the most stunning blue eyes. His arms were toned, just enough to tell that he worked out. He was perfect.
I was violently brought back to reality when he waved his hand in front of my face and asked," Are you ok?" He had the sweetest Irish accent.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, snatching my phone from his hand. "Just a little shaken." I said, looking down at me feet.
"So was I, when I tried out for the X Factor." He said, sympathy in his eyes.
"Well, thanks for finding my phone." I said, starting to walk away.
"See you around?" He asked, with a little hint of hope in his voice.
"Maybe." I said, before walking out of the building again.
I unlocked my phone speed dialled Shelby.
"Hello? How did it go?" She asked, excitement in her voice.
"Just come pick me up." I said, not ready to discuss it.
"Ok. I'll be there in 15." She said before hanging up.
I put my phone away and slumped down th wall of the building. I stayed like that, waiting for Shelby, and her never ending questions.

Niall's Point of View
I sat behind the curtain, listening to the contestants sing. Simon said the boys and I could not judge yet, (it was supposed to be a surprise) but let he let me listen to them, as long as they never saw me.
I hadn't heard anyone with a really good voice yet, and I was starting to get bored. I took out my phone and decided to do a following spree, when I heard the next contestant walk in.
"Name?" The first judge asked, just like the other contestants.
"Ana Nunez." I heard a small voice say. I didn't really take much notice of the name, and went on with my following spree.
There was a moment of silence, then I heard the most angelic voice I had ever heard in my entire life.
I sat up, straining my ears to hear the girl's voice better. I got up out of the chair I was sitting in and walked over to the thin curtain that separated me from the person who owned the perfect voice. I fought the urge to pull the curtain away but eventually the suspense was to much, and I pulled the curtain back just enough to see who was singing.
The girl on the other side was flawless. Well, at least her backside was. She had gorgeous wavy auburn hair that went to just past her shoulders and every curve of her body was perfect.
I tried to look away but I just couldn't. Then she stopped singing and the head judge casually told her to leave. I was pissed at the judge as I saw the girl half running, half walking to get to the exit. Then I saw something shiny on the ground. I picked up and it turned out to be a cell phone. I instantly concluded it had to be the girl's, and I started to jog towards the exit. I was.surprised when I was met halfway by the girl, obviously looking for her phone.
"Is this your phone?" I asked, holding out the phone.
"Yeah, it is." She said before snatching it away from me. Then she just stood there for a minute and I didn't know why.
"Are you ok?" I asked waving my hand in front of her face.
"Yeah, just a little shaken." She said with a sigh.
"So was I, when I tried out for the X Factor." I responded back, trying to sympathize with her.
"Well, thanks for finding my phone." She said, starting to walk away.
"See you around?" I asked, trying not to be obvious.
"Maybe." She said, before walking out the door.
"Maybe." I repeated, and went off to find the boys.
