Walking on Water (Chapter 5)

When I was just going to ask my other questions I heard a desperate, "Tessa!", and a loud rumble. I ushered Logan and Rodger outside. "Come on, lets get out of here before I get cussed out by Daniel." When we came outside I felt a icy-cool feeling on my legs and arms. Wrong day to wear a dress, I guess. When we went to the front yard  Sarah and Daniel was looking around like they was looking for a loss puppy. Daniel turned around and seen me. "Where were you guys? I was getting a little worried." He said with a concerned face. "Sorry I had to show Rodger and Logan around, you know, since this is their first time being here." I said. It was kind of true, I mean I did show them the cottage. Daniel looked like he wasn't buying it, but that will have to due for now.

"So, since it's about to rain at any second, should we get inside so we don't get wet.?" Logan said, easing away the awkward silence that took hold. "Um, yeah, sorry." Daniel said breaking his gaze away from me.

As we went inside, Daniel whispered to me, "Are you okay? You look a little pale." That made me blush, so I put my head down. "I'm fine, It's probably just the weather making me look like a ghost." I laughed awkwardly. Daniel wasn't buying it at all this time. "If anything was going on, you would tell me right?" Daniel asked, giving me a piercing stare. "Of course, your my bestfriend." I said sympathetically and I was taken aback by how much I meant that. "Then, what is going on? Why are you looking so pale and why are you dressed like that?" He asked staring me down tensly. I hate when he does that, It makes me feel like I'm naked. 

"What? You don't like it?" I asked, trying to change the subject. "Tessa...." He said desperately. Damn it. "Fine. My mom has been ignoring me lately and she haven't really been giving me the motherly advice that I so desperately need. She've been drinking more than usual and she don't even look me in the eye anymore." I said, which wasn't entirely true but It wasn't really a lie either.It must've worked for Daniel because he pulled me in a hug. "I'm so sorry,Tessa. I didn't know. You should start talking to me about these things. Why you never told me?" He asked. I was kind of grateful for that question and that hug. "Because I didn't want you to judge me." I said looking up at his beautiful blue eyes. They weren't like Rodger eyes. It wasn't piercing blue, like Rodgers. It more like a silky ocean or a blue cloth. 

"You know I love you way too much to let that ever happen." And the funny thing is I did know that. 

Daniel looked into my eyes and then shifted his eyes to my lips. He took a step closer to me and then grabbed the back of my neck. Then he started to lean in. My brain was protesting saying, "No! No! Don't do this, Tessa." But my heart was saying, "Go for it! This could and will happen." I didn't know what to do, but I couldn't help it I started leaning in too. As his mouth touched mine, it felt like I was walking on water. It felt like me and him was dancing even though only our mouths was moving. As much as I wanted to kiss him I had to pull away becasue I felt that paranoid feeling like I was being watched. I turned my head left and right. Daniel moved his head up and was looking at something or better yet someone that must've been behind me. I was just about to turn my head when Daniel yelled, "Sarah!" Oh no. Shit.

I ran after Sarah while it was pouring all over me and I had no jacket and I was wearing a dress. I didn't even care because I felt nothing. I just felt numb. "Sarah!" I screamed. "Sarah, where are you?" I yelled. I kept looking, until I heard short distinct little sniffles. "Sarah?" I whispered. "Is that you?" I asked cautionly.

"Why can't you just leave me alone?" She screamed. "Sarah, I'm so sorry that you seen that. I didn't mean-" Before I could finish my sentence, Sarah lunged at me, yes she actually lunged at me. Sarah was pulling my hair. "Ow!" I screamed. "Sarah, get off of me!"! "Not until you feel what I felt when I seen you and Daniel kiss." I remembered that I took two classes of karate with Daniel and in that short time, it taught me to strike someone unexpectly, so you could catch them off guard. I wrapped my leg under Sarah's leg and pulled. Sarah let go and I sat on her. I never been in a fight before, okay? Sarah squirmed and screamed. "Calm down and then I'll get off." I said calmly. After a few minutes, she stop squirming and I got off of her. She flipped me off. "Thats fine, I could take that, but don't go around beating yourself and others down because in the end your the one that is misrebal." I said. I heard running in the distance and seen flashlights. After a few minutes I seen Rodger, Logan, and Daniel faces.
