As we got closer to the restroom I could hear muzzled voices from inside. Then I realized they weren't just voices; someone was yelling. Miranda and I exchanged glances and then we barged into the girls room. The moment I realized what was going on I wish we hadn't. I hated my bladder at the moment. A blonde headed tall dude was aggressively holding a knife to a blonde headed chick and was covering her mouth with his hand. She was crying and looked so messed up. I felt really bad and really scared but I wasn't gonna just run away and let him hurt her. They quickly looked our direction as soon as they heard the door shoot open.
"What the fuck are you doing here?! GET OUT NOW!" His teeth were gritted and his hands were shaking.
"Chase...let her go." I attempted to say calmly.
"Yeah, don't hurt her. You don't wanna go to jail do you? You're drunk. You need to calm down." Miranda said. I could hear both our voices shaking as we spoke.
"SHUT UP!" Chase screamed and held the knife closer to the girl. "I'm not going to jail cause if any of you tell anyone about this ill come after all of you! Promise me you won't tell anyone or I will make your lives a living hell." The blonde girl was sobbing uncontrollably at this point.
"My father is a detective, Chase." Miranda said quickly and sternly. We both thought it would make him stop all this nonsense.
"Wrong...fucking...answer." He said slowly. Then he quickly sliced the girl's throat without any hesitation. Miranda and I both yelled and fell to our knees as Chase quickly disappeared through the door.
"Call your dad! Miranda, CALL YOUR DAD!" Miranda was in shock. She didn't even blink. I couldn't believe this was happening. I always knew Chase was messed up in the head but I never thought he'd actually kill someone. Tears were flowing down my cheek. I was so scared and I didn't know what to do so I took Miranda's phone from her hand bag and looked through her contacts list. I realized she had gotten Zachary's phone number now and then I remembered the boys were still waiting for us outside but now was not the time to be thinking about boys. I found Mr. McFinney's number and called it. He answered after the second ring.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Mr. McFinney." I said my voice still shaking.
"Oh, hello Elizabeth is everything okay?" It took me a while to reply.
"Mr. McFinney...something...something happened."
"What happened?" I couldn't bring myself to say what happened. I kept having flashbacks of the incident. The image of Chase slicing the girls throat and all that blood pouring to the floor. Her dead body lying a few feet away from me. "Did something happen to my daughter? Elizabeth, tell me what happened." Mr. McFinney demanded.
"Help us, girls restroom, bring police." Is all I could make myself say and I hung up. I sat next to Miranda in a corner. She was staring at the blonde girl lying face down on the floor. Blood was surrounding her and stained her white dress and hair. Five minutes later Carter and Zachary were knocking on the door.
"Miranda, Liz you in there?" Zach yelled over the music.
"You girls have been in there for almost half an hour." Carter yelled after him. I didn't reply. I couldn't get myself to say anything. I felt numb. Emotionless. I didn't know what to say. It took another five minutes for Miranda's dad to get here with the police. The moment they arrived the DJ stopped playing music.
"What's going on?" Carter asked Miranda's dad when he spotted him.
"Hello, what's going on detective?" Zach asked. Miranda's dad barged in with two police men ignoring Zach. The police men were ready to arrest us. Mr. McFinney said something through his walkie talkie and told the police men to take care of the blonde girl and that he would deal with us. They did as he said. Zach and Carter were trying to convince the police to let them in but a group of police blocked them and the first two that came in carried the blonde girl out.
