Adam's Pov
I had gone downstairs to where the portals were, and stared at the Nether one. Jason instantly came to mind, with him being a hybrid of the Wither. Unlike Ty however, he now knew that the boss they were about to fight was in some way, shape, or form connected to Jason.
"Hey Adam, you okay?" I didn't even hear Jerome come downstairs. I must have been too caught up in my own thoughts.
"Uh... yeah, I'm fine." I tried to lie, but by the facial expression Jerome gave me, I knew he didn't fall for it. I sighed. "It's Jason. After the whole Enderlox situation, and with us now going to the Nether, I don't want anything bad to happen to him."
"Oohh. Well, you should probably tell him that. Jason is really good at understanding things, so he won't be offended." Jerome gave me an encouraging smile.
"Yeah, you're probably right... Thanks for the talk, it really did help with my nerves." I smiled back at him, and walked out to the kitchen where I saw Jason. I took a deep breath.
It's now or never... just don't think too much about it.
"Hey Jason." I walked over to him. When he turned around and saw me, he smiled.
"Hey Adam! You're up rather early." Jason smiled.
"Yeah. I need to talk to you... about something..." I bit the inside of my lip nervously. Jason nodded, and I took a deep breath. "I...I need you to... stay here while we go to the Nether." The smile faded from his face, and I instantly felt horrible. He had been looking forward to seeing the Nether, the thought had always fascinated him even as kids. A world of flying monsters, a legendary fortress with an amazing tale behind its creation.
"Oh... okay, that's fine." Jason gave me a small smile. I could tell it was fake...
"It's nothing personal, just-" He didn't let me finish.
"There's no need to explain yourself, I trust you, and I know you're doing it for the best. Why don't you go and get everyone else up, I'm almost done with breakfast." Smiling, he walked back over to what he was making. I sighed and began to head upstairs.
Ty's Pov
There were so many innocent people that I had killed... Even Dawn and Kermit, my own friends... it pained me a lot. I sighed, recalling what Enderlox had told me weeks ago.
"He's not just a danger to me, but you and your piful friends!"
I had taken it into mind, Jason was acting off during the fight to the point where it was concerning. But after that, he seemed so calm, like he didn't know what had happened.
Jason understands almost everything, he knows how to make people feel better, and pretty much never gets anyone mad. It was always a wonder to me, how he was able to stay so calm and quiet. I had wished I could be as collective as he was, making a rainy day shine with his smile.
A knock sounded on my door. Sighing, I got up out of bed to answer it. When I opened the door, I found Adam standing there.
"Morning Ty!" He gave a cheeky smile that I couldn't help but to smile back at.
"Mornin... pardon me for asking, but why are you up? You're always a heavy sleeper." He shook his head at me.
"Jason asked the same thing. Why do you question meehhh??" Adam pouted, and I laughed.
"Cuz I cans." I folded my arms.
"Well, today we're going to the Nether to rid of the Wither. You know, same old same old." He shrugged a little bit.
"Yeah. Did you tell Jason yet?" I asked him. Adam was close to Jason, and he told me how he didn't want the Wither to find out about Jason's hybrid side...for... safety reasons...
"Yeah... I still feel bad though." He sighed, so I put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"You did it to protect him. I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes." I walked out the bedroom door, Adam following me.
"I know... anways, breakfast is almost ready, and I'm getting the other guys up fo-" Mitch's door burst open, and out ran Jerome dragging Mitch along.
"I HEARD BREAKFAST GET OUTTA DA WAY BEETCHS!" Jerome screamed, pushing past us, almost causing Mitch to fall over. I could just barely make out Mitch tripping onto Jerome, causing the two to stumble down the stairs. I looked at Adam, and we both laughed. Ian walked out of his room.
"Jeez, you guys are so loud..." He put a hand under his sunglasses to rub his eyes.
"You go get Quintin. I got Seto." I told Adam, who nodded and went down the hallway.
Seto's Pov
I grabbed onto my desk to pull myself upwards.
You're not very good at concealing your pain, you know that right?
Yeah, and you're not very good at staying quiet now are you?
Ouch, that got me in my nonexistent heart.
Leave me alone...
I can't. You just need to learn when it's time to stop. Let me in.
I'll let you in when fat pigs fly!
There was a knock on my door. Using magic, I opened it. Ty stepped in.
"Oh, you are awake. Breakfast is ready." He smiled.
"Yeah, Jerome's voice didn't give that away at all." I laughed.
"Right. Let's go."
Jason's Pov
After breakfast was done, I sat on the couch while the others were in their rooms getting weapons. I looked at the stairs that lead to the end portal and nether portal, then sighed. I always wanted to see a walking pig. I quickly turned around when I heard them coming back.
"Alright. Jason, are you sure you'll be fine here by yourself?" Adam asked. I nodded.
"Of course. I have to finish something up with Jeffrey anyways." I laughed. Adam nodded, and the other guys headed downstairs. He walked over to me.
"It won't take long, I promise." He smiled, and I smiled back.
As he went down the stairs, I couldn't help but find a sense of loneliness wash over me, watching as an adventure of wonder slipped away from my grasp.
