Wh-...What's this??? Is...is......IS THIS AN UPDATE?!?! HOLY CRAP!!! Aight, enough joking around. Hey everyone! It's me, the person you probably forgot about! I was really surprised to see people were still interested in this story, and I figured 'You know what? I might as well finish it!' My original plan like 6 years ago was to have a four part story series revolving around the Team Crafted Hybrids. I've had the end of this book written out for about 3 years now, and I even have some of the next book written (even if it is from old and cringey me). I've decided that I really do want to finish this series, even if the Minecraft community is no longer what it once was. For the few people who still read this series, I dedicate this to you. Enjoy! :)
???'s Pov
When I opened my eyes, I found a bunch of bright lights harassing me. I wanted to roll over, but it felt as though my body had been cemented into place. Still, I did my best to try and sit up, as I started, I heard a gasp.
"Ant!" A feminine voice called out. Blinking a few times, I saw a woman with black hair running towards me. She grabbed my hand gently and helped me sit up, before leaning me against the back of the white bed I was on. "You're finally awake!"
"Yeah... uh, where am I?" I asked.
"You're in the infirmary, you've been in a Coma for 3 weeks." She smiled, seemingly in relief. I looked at her in a questioning manner. The thought suddenly came to my mind.
"Uh, sorry... who are you again?" I asked. The expression on her face changed.
"It's Aphmau. You know, Jess?" I gave her a blank stare. She stared at me worried, before calling out. "Noah! Jordan!" Before I knew it, two men ran into the room.
"What's going on?" The one with no pupils asked her. Jess shook her head. "I think Ant might have amnesia..." He gaped at her, then turned to me. Tilting his head, he moved slightly closer, investigating me. I shifted back a bit.
"Um... can you, not do that? Please?" I said, uncomfortably. He backed off, and looked between Jess and the other guy. "I think we should call Adam."
Jason's Pov
My knees gave out on the floor of the cavern I ended up stopping in. I began hacking uncontrollably until black liquid began to seep from my mouth, dripping onto the floor in liquids and chunks.
"It's just a side effect of my power, very few can actually take it... But you, Jason..." The voice took form of a grey shadow in front of me, using it's somehow tangible hand to lift up my chin, revealing the black liquid streaming from my mouth. "You are strong... You are stronger than you think, even without my powers... But you have something holding you back." The shadows around me began to morph, entangling my body to disable it from moving.
"You are emotionally attached to things... You care too much about others, and want to ensure that they are always happy..." The grey shadow used its hands to cup my cheeks. "But no one can be happy forever, and that can be painful... You saw what you did to that friend of yours, right? You killed him. What do you think your friends will think of you now? What do you think Jerome will do...?" I could feel tears streaming down my face, and hitting the stone floor.
No...
Those weren't tears... they were red... blood? Was I crying...blood?
"What if I told you I could save your friend, Mitch?" I froze. "Ah, yes... you see, I injected him with something that could potentially save his life. All you have to do is let me save him. Of course, the decision is up to you..." She backed away slightly. "I also reccomend you tell me soon, or itll be too late for me to take any action."
"Please! Please, save him, I didnt mean to hurt him, please!" I just wept. The only thing I cared about was saving Mitch. The shadow seemed to smile.
"Good boy..." Before I knew it, the shadow plunged itself down my throat, and everything went black.
Jerome's Pov
Two days I spent by Mitch's side, barely moving away from him. The blackness had covered most of the right side of his body, and it stopped spreading a few hours before.
Seto managed to stabilize him, but ever since he hasnt left from his room. Adam has been having random migraines, some longer than others, but they seem to exhaust him.
These thoughts abruptly stopped when I felt a slight bit of movement coming from Mitch. Immediately, I bolted upright, waiting for him to awaken.
"Biggums?" The words were frantic, almost desperate. Another small stir, before Mitch slowly began to open his eyes. Relief immediately rushed through my body. "Oh thank Notch..."
He turned his head over to me. "...G? ugh... what..." His voice was slightly hoarse. When he went to sit up, I quickly stopped him.
"Careful, you're still recovering!" Chuckling softly, he continued to push himself upright, clearing his throat.
"I'm fine-" His eyes suddenly widened as he grabbed the arm with all the black on it, grunting in pain. I went to help him, but stopped short when he looked over at me. His right eye was glossed over with a glassy whiteness that dimmed the normal shine in his eyes. Before I could register anything else, he flung himself off of the bed, grabbed my neck, and held me up against the wall.
I looked down at him as oxygen rapidly escaped my lungs. "...bigg-...ums..?" The words barely got out. With a flinch, I watched as tears began to fill his left eye, running down his cheek. Dots were forming in my vision.
And darkness soon overtook me.
