That Runaway Girl

Chapter 12:

Brooke's POV:

After hanging out with Luke for a bit, he brought up something that might change everything

"Hey Brooke, I have a question and I think it's the right choice." He said and I listened closely

"That is?" I giggled and sat on the couch and he followed

"I think we should change our relationship with the adoption centre, like change that we adopted you and that you were living with us, I know it's weird for us to be like this when we adopted you, but it doesn't have to be like this anymore." He said, looking in my eyes for approval

"Luke, I think this would be great, but I promised myself I would never go back there, remember Mary?" I shivered at the thought, I looked down and Luke grabbed my hands in his hands.

"I know, but would you do it to save us? To make this all right and not weird." He asked and I just sat there and thought, thought about what would happen if I went back there if I saw Mary, what would happen?

"Brooke I'll be with you through everything." He reassured and smiled, with that I caved in

"Alright I guess so."

"Brooke this is it."

I sighed

"I know I gotta go do it, but follow me." I said and he nodded and took my hand, I slowly walked to the front door and gulped, this was where all horrible things happened to me, the worst days of my life happened here. I opened the door slowly and saw the front desk, I looked around before walking up to it.
Once I got to the front desk the lady looked up and I knew exactly who it was, it was Nicole, she was just starting out here when I left, I faintly remember her. This should be alright

"Hello there how may I help you?" She smiled and I cringed

"Hi yes my name is Brooklyn, Brooklyn Star Green, I was adopted here a year and a half ago, almost two years and I wanted to let you know that I'm not with the people who adopted me anymore and that I've moved out, so if you could change that, it would be great." I asked and this wasn't a lie at all, I've moved out and I'm on my own, I don't live with the boys anymore and I'm working on my education I never received.

"Oh okay let me see." She said than eyed me up and down. I'm guessing she was typing in my name in the system, after she stopped typing, she scrolled for a second than looked up at me

"Brooklyn." She started "You've got quite the history here." She said cocking her eyebrow up

"I'm Brooke please and I guess so." I shrugged

"It says here you've acted horribly here and you left the day after I came here."

"Yes I know your Nicole and I just wanted to leave this information with you and the centre, I'm seventeen turning eighteen, I'm grown up." I smiled weakly. She nodded before speaking

"I see, well I will have to leave this with the centre but I'm sure it's fine, have a great day miss Green." She chuckled before standing up and walked away. Rude, oh well that's done and over with. I sense of happiness filled my body as I walked out of there to find Luke, this place is in the past, in the dust. I found Luke leaning up against the wall of the centre, once he saw me his eyes lit up.

"So how did everything go?" He asked and I smiled

"Everything went fine, all good here, I'm on my own now and I'm working on an education."

"That's great Brooke, I'm happy for you." He smiled and took my hand

"Want pizza?"

"Definitely."

I just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments, I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever my apologies but I've been working on paying attention to school before anything else, so I fixed this, people have been commenting saying it's weird for them to be dating and everything but in my eyes it was never really weird but it's fixed, Brooke is on her own now and doesn't live with the boys anymore, it's not gonna be weird between them anymore, so your welcome! I might just update again today I have some plans for this book since Brooke's birthday is coming up! Hehe! Stay amazing! Ilysm!!!!
