Clouds To Mask The Ground {J.H.S}

When we were 15 we started to stand in line together to get our drinks.

You also took the empty seat in front of me instead of beside me. I didn't mind.

I saw you steal glances at me. I didn't mind that either though since I stole some glances too. I loved to see you engrossed in your book or when your tongue stuck out in concentration.

You were always there before me, so I always got in line a few people behind you.

"Yi seul?" I heard someone whisper my name from a little farther up in the line. I immediately looked up, curious. Your head popped out through the people between us.

You gestured your hand to indicate to me that you wanted me to go over to you.

I obeyed and went straight to you.

I looked to you, waiting for you to tell me something.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh, I just thought you wouldn't want to be all the way back there, " you smiled and shrugged.

We both ordered soon after and then got our drinks soon after that.

I went to go sit in my usual seat, but this time you took the seat in front of me and not beside me.

I didn't mind, so I grabbed my laptop and worked on the essay that was due Monday. I saw you do the same.

You were in the same school and grade as me, but we weren't in the same class.

Soon I saw you peak over your laptop to look at me. You smiled and as soon as I moved my head to look at you, your gaze quickly went back to your computer. I chuckled, shook my head and continued writing.

Soon I looked over my own laptop to look at you. Your face was slightly scrunched up, because of your concentration. The tip of your tongue was held in between your teeth as you typed away. You barely blinked as you concentrated.

I smiled and you quickly looked up and I moved my gaze as quickly as I could as my heart pounded so hard that I thought it might beat right out of my chest.

We did this everyday.
