When we were 18 you finally asked to hang out with me outside of the café. You took me to the ice skating rink.
We also exchanged numbers and you always texted me goodmorning and goodnight. I loved that.
But I noticed you would only answer with a couple of words. It didn't matter If the conversation was face-to-face or via text.
I confronted you about your behavior that had been happening for the past 2 years.

"J-hope?" I asked as we left the café.
"Yes?" You responded, stopping and turning to face me.
"What's wrong?" I asked. You gave me a questioning look. "Your behavior is a bit off, it has been for awhile." I said.
"What do you mean?" you asked.
"You're not talking as much or smiling as much. You aren't being you." I said as I stared into his eyes. Something was different about them.
You sighed, smiled and then hugged me. I accepted the hug, but soon I felt your body shake and you held me tighter and I felt your tears in the crook of my neck.
"I messed up," you whispered through your small sobs.
"How?" I asked.
"I'm stuck in the clouds covering Earth," you said.
~
I had no idea of what you meant, but I hugged you tighter.
