♤Unknown POV♤

☆Cold and Dark☆

All Yongguk knew what that he and Junhong were walking back the lodge and then he was looking up through a hole in the ground to the younger.
It had been ten minutes now. Ten minutes since he had sent Junhong to go get the help of a ladder. Yongguk had to admit that this hole in the ground piqued his interest. There was nothing to stop him from exploring the cavern surrounding him. Luckily he had a flashlight with him so he could see.

The cavern looked very much like a mining camp. A map over an old desk, that looked like it was about to crumble, caught Yongguk's eye. He noticed there was more to the mining plans than they had originally thought. There was supposed to only be that one cave with a few tunnels before it was shut down. No, there are many more caves and tunnel systems. Some almost cross over causing the unstable ground.

He noticed that there was a fire tower labeled on the map. It did not look too far from the lodge but it was far enough you could not look out of the window and see it.

Yongguk saw many things that interested him. Things that may open a new door as to what happened to Himchan.

Daehyun worried for Youngjae. That was obvious. Who wasn't worried about him? Now on top of everything with him, there is Yongguk who fell into a ground pocket or something. He felt like life was out to get them.

There was a sound coming from the library that broke Daehyun from his thoughts. It sounded like an old film playing from the old tape recorder. As he paced to the door he noticed that it was slightly open already. He pushed the door all the way open to see and rolling film.

"Project Gold. Day 1,098. The project is going well. Every day we are finding more and more gold. According to all the calculations, we should come across the mother load soon. May God watch over us." The film cut and came back on to another film.

"Project Gold. Day 1,573. There are whispers of a murderer present among us. People have been disappearing. We go to sleep and everyone is here and wake up to a smaller amount every day. What have we gotten ourselves into?" Daehyun watched was the videos went from a healthy man who was happy to be here changed to a man who couldn't go to sleep because he feared that he would be the next to loose his life.

"Project Gold. Day... I don't even know. There are only ten of us left. We have tried to leave but the cave entrance had been sealed for weeks. Maybe months. It's impossible to keep up with the days. Everyone is on edge. People are dying in more mysterious ways. It seems less like a human did it every body we find.... What was that!? Who's there?" Daehyun watched as the man talked about his awful experience. The further info the video the more gruesome it was. He tried to turn the video off as the man was torn apart by an unknown entity.

After the video was turned off the heard a this behind him. He took in a couple of slow breaths, trying to keep from panicking, and turned around. He was greeted by the sight of a shaking Youngjae.

"I thought you said he was here?" Jongup was completely lost. Junhong brought him to the hole that Yongguk fell into but he isn't there.
"Okay. Umm. How about I go down and look around. Just to see if he is down here." Junhong said with a quivering voice. He was terrified. What if he gets down there and comes face to face with his body. This was not something Junhong was prepared for.

"Do you see anything?" Jong up called from the top of the ladder. He didn't want to go down it himself in fear of them both being stuck down there. Junhong was looking around only seeing what the flashlight allowed him to see.

"Hey, Jongup. I think there is something down here. I'm not sure what. It looks like an old mine lift. I'm going to go look at it." Junhong called up to the older. Jongup tried to protest but the other had run off before the world would leave his mouth. He was hovering the hole in the ground listening for the slightest thing. Only, the slightest thing was a loud ear piercing screech of metal on metal.
"Junhong!"

☆Savior☆

The screeching metal echoed all throughout the tunnels. Yongguk knew that it sounded like metal but didn't know what. Any normal person would have run the other direction. Honestly, he was considering doing just that. What kept him from doing so was the sound of Junhong's name being called out. More like screamed.

Yongguk didn't care about anything that could happen. All he knew was Junhong was in danger. Or so he thought.

The sparks from the metal had set of some presumably old gasoline which just so happened to have exploded. He felt the ground rumbles and tried to scatter away from the falling rocks.

Jongup had never scaled a ladder and faster in his life. He quickly searched the area for his friend. There was no sigh of him anywhere. An old wooden staircase could be spotted not too far from the lift. Jongup quietly whispered a prayer in good hope that Junhong was okay and this staircase didn't get destroyed by the explosion.

As he made his way down the staircase he called out for his friend. No tries were ever successful. He hoped that he was still alive and at the bottom of the lift.

Jongup was finding it hard to keep a level head. The silence was deafening. He continued down the staircase. He let out a yelp when one of the steps broke when he stepped on it. This increased his nervousness about being down in this cave. He had been hearing a growling sound that was increasing in volume the further down he had gotten. He had no idea what was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs.

"Daehyun." Youngjae's voice cracked as he looked at the older. Youngjae didn't know what to do. He had just witnessed the video of a man being torn apart my something that was invisible. Now he had screaming in his head. It wouldn't stop. Even when Daehyun took him into his arms. All he could do was allow his knees to buckle.

"I'm sorry you had to see that Jae," Daehyun whispered as he petted the younger's hair. This trip had been nothing but one crisis after another so far and poor Youngjae seemed to the prime victim.

"Dae?"

"Yes, Jae?"

"Someone is going to die."
