The sky was bright with shades of grey shining in the sky. The moon shown bright and full for all to see. They always say that if anything bad is going to happen it will happen on a full moon and this is just what the boys were thinking. They felt that some of the worst things that could happen to them happened on that night.
***It was dark and dreadful inside of the cave. It was cold and wet, creepy and haunted. Any word phrase could describe what the atmosphere was in the cave. It was an almost pitch black cavern gently painted by the moonlight.
The boy felt pain, that is all he knew for the time. He yelled in pain at an invisible force which had yet to show its self. "Why did you take him?" He yelled into the void. Nothing but silence followed. It was quiet. Almost too quiet. The boy felt a breeze colder than that in the room which caused a shiver to be sent down his spine. Then a voice. "They come to my land. Unknowing. Uninvited. They must learn what it means to toy with me. Just as you have." The deep rumble of the voice echoed through the cave. The boy feared. Not what was to come to him, but to his friends.
***Yonguk was fortunate. The cloud of rubble and dust was finally starting to settle and his vision adjusting. He has no idea how he was going to get around the cave in. The exact trail he thought of taking is blocked off. He was now left with no choice to go the other direction. He searched the area he was at for anything he could use to help guide him through the dark cavern. As he groped for any type of torch he came across a strange texture. It wasn't like the rocks. It felt structured and all too familiar. Just by touch Yonguk figured out that the item was not a rock but a skull. By impulse he jumped and threw the item away from him, his skin crawling. He had just found a skull and threw it to who knows where.
After a few more minutes of searching he was successful in finding his torch. When it was lit he looked around at the rubble now able to see what he was almost hit by. After the relief of not dying rushed over him, worry now filled his soul. The last things he heard was the screeching metal and the screams of his friends. Now he has no way to quickly get to them. With all of this in mind Yonguk searched hastily for anything that could help him around the block.
A map was sitting on an old wooden desk that looked about ready to fall in caught his attention. Many things were scribbled onto the map but the thing that stuck out to him the most was a label by the name of Project Gold.
He remembered learning about something like this before. There was apparently gold in the mountains and when people heard of this another gold rush started. It quickly ended because no one ever found anything and it was confirmed to be a rumor. Judging by the map and the documents around it, this project must have went on for quite some time after the end of the rush.
Yonguk thought that the map and documents would be a useful thing to show when or if he made it out of this tunnel system. According to the map he had three different ways to get where he wanted to. One of which was blocked off. Out of the two he went with the one that took him down a level in the cave system. He hoped that the search for Junhong and Jongup wouldn't take forever. He was scared for himself but also of what may happen when he finds them. So with motivation in mind and hand Yonguk set off to get to his friends.
***"Ahh, my head!" The youngest exclaimed quietly. He felt around to get an idea of where he was at. The ground had a metallic feel. He remembered that he was at the bottom of the elevator shaft. With his eyes adjusting to the dark he tried to get on his feet. He scanned the darkness for any hint of light. Nothing stood out except for a small green light but even that did not stay lit. Before he even moved two steps he had already tripped over something. He lifted himself from the ground a second time and felt for what had tripped him. He felt the item hoping to feel what it was. It was his flashlight. Before he was fully thankful he turned the switch to see if the light would come on and it did. He smiled to himself in victory and relooked throughout the room. There was nothing special other than an empty desk in the small area so he decided to try to find his way back to where he started.
