Nine

~River's POV~

I couldn't sleep, not because I was three months along, but because I kept dreaming that Derek killed Aiden. I don't know why I dreamt that but it scared me.

"Riv," I hear Aiden groan softly.

"Did I wake you," I ask, trying to hide the sleepiness in my voice.

"No, Baby girl, did I wake you," he asks softly.

I bit my lower lip, tears starting to fall for no reason.

He'll just use me like Jackson did! Derek will hurt him! Deucalion will hurt him and come after the baby. I'm not a good mother...

"Baby," Aiden says softly, "no one's going to hurt you. I promise that.".

I sniffled and look at him. He smiled softly, his eyes kind and caring. I knew I didn't deserve him.

"Baby, I can read body language. Your tensed, that's a sign your scared. The way you wrapped your arms around your small bump tells me your protective. Please tell me what's wrong, my princess," he says.

"I keep dreaming that Derek takes you from me," I whimpered.

Aiden frowned, his right hand gently rubbing my small baby bump. I was scared stiff, would Derek try that?

I felt Aiden's lips on the side of my baby bump, then I felt him softly kiss it a few times. I giggled softly, "That tickles!".

Aiden looked up at me and smiled. He gently tickled me and I squealed softly.

Soon a yawn escapes, sleep starts clouding my eyes. Aiden held me close, his right arm protectively draped over my baby bump when he laid on his side.

~Next Day~

I got ready for school, scared about losing my spot on the lacrosse team. Coach had told me when someone told him about my situation that I couldn't compete.

I pull on a pair of Aiden's sweatpants and a loose fitting top. I went to grab my bag, but Aiden grabbed it for me.

What's gonna happen?
