The first day of school wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. I decided to walk home instead of ride with Amelia. I thought it would be nice walking home alone listening to my favorite song. It's not something I get to do a lot. My family hates the type of music that I listen to. They think it sounds terrible and is too dark for people to understand. I honestly love it more than life. The music is relatable and true. I think people just don't understand it's meaning.
I walk into the house. It's surprisingly quiet. I guess no one is home. Amelia usually blares her annoying pop music or has the tv running. Either way, she's always making noise of some sort. I like the quiet and emptiness of the house. It's something I'm not used to. You can actually here the living room clock tick. As I walk into the kitchen, I see a bright yellow note hanging on the fridge.

"Sorry girls. I went to work early today. I hope you had a great first day back to school!"

Love, Mom

Amelia just got home. You can hear her throwing her book bag across the floor. She tried so hard when she was younger to get attention, now it's just a habit. She was always ignored as a kid. It's sad that since I was the baby, I got all of the attention.

"Amara! Do you have any money I could barrow?"
"No Amelia! You used the last of what I had yesterday."

Amelia storms out. She acts like money grows on trees. She's in debt of so many people. She evenowes me $438. Sometimes Amelia can act like she's the most awesome person in the world. The thought makes me laugh. She definitely is not the most awesome person at all. In my opinion, nobody is. There is no perfect person in the world. Society just try's to make you think that. When in reality, society has the most flaws of them all.
People think it's weird that my favorite place is the attic in my house. It's so quiet up there. No one ever bothers me and there are some cool knickknacks in the attic. Old antiques, scrapbooks, furniture, collections, and more interesting things. Today, I found an interesting mirror covered in an old dusty black curtain. I've never noticed it there before. It's almost like the antique mirror just came out of nowhere. Like it was put there just for me.
