I sort of slumped into my cabin upon arrival. I didn't talk to anyone on the way to the cabin (not that I would've wanted to), but I did make some observations about some of my cabin-mares. One girl was talking to some girl in another cabin who had about the same hair color as her, but it was in a loose and big ponytail and a green shirt. They were having a pretty heated conversation.

I let out a long sigh. I could already tell just by the looks of those two that they were gonna be the troublemakers. I'm just gonna have to steer clear of them; as I said, I want nothing to do with anyone here.

The only other observation I made was that there was one other girl not talking to anyone. She had dirty-blonde hair that was rather short, and she was wearing a pale blue shirt and shorts with a purple cloak-like thing covering a good chunk of her body. She's walking with her head down, avoiding everybody. She looks interesting enough; she kind of reminds me of myself.

Then, we arrived. There was a "3" hanging beside the door, which I assumed was the cabin number. One of the girls, who looked older than everyone else and who had a clipboard (what is it with people here and clipboards!) placed a key in the doorknob, and the cabin door promptly swung open. Everyone then headed inside the cabin, a low chatter buzzing through the group.

The layout of the cabin was rather strange; the doors to the washrooms and another room, which I'm assuming is the councellor's dorm, are all on the right wall. There's a short hallway with multiple hooks, but past that little entrance-way, the whole rest of the cabin was devoted to bunks. There were eight bunk beds in total. Seven of them were all against a wall, surrounding one bed in the middle. Where there would be a ninth to make a square, there is just empty space so that the entranceway past the hallway is not obscured by a bed.

"Alright," said the young woman who opened the door. "You can all find the bunks that you want for the month, and then we'll do introductions."

I immediately went over to a bunk on the side. It was the one to the right, if you were observing from the hallway. I threw my bags onto the top bunk (with much effort) and climbed up there with them, with the intent of keeping watch. There was no way I was going to let anyone have my bottom bunk. I need my space. Besides, who would want to share a bunk with someone who could potentially burn the bed down for all they know?

There was one girl who was considering taking the bunk below me, but I shot her an intimidating glance, showing her that this was my territory. She got the message; she quickly turned to find another bunk.

My bunk was beside that mysterious girl's bunk. She had taken the far right corner. Once everyone had chosen a bunk, we piled into the centre, where the 9th bunk would have been.

"Okay, gang," the young woman with the clipboard began. Her voice was sorta deep for the age she looked, and had a slightly bubbly tone to it. "What we'll all do is, when I call your name, introduce yourselves and tell the others what your power is." Great. I'm already bored out of my skull. "I'll start." the clipboard girl continued. "I'm Rose, and I'm your councellor this month. I can use the powers of Water and Air. The rest about my powers is pretty self-explanatory."

"Not exactly," Mysterious Girl muttered to herself. "It's rude to assume everyone's just gonna understand something as complicated as this."

I was intrigued. I already liked the way she thinks; a lot like I do. And it's already obvious that she doesn't want to be here. She seems cool enough, I guess. But, if there's anything I've learned, it's not to judge a book by its cover.

"Let's begin," Rose suggested. She read her clipboard. "Shira?"

An underweight-looking girl with jet black hair in a super high ponytail raised her hand. "Here," she responded. "I have plant life power. I can make anything grow out of the ground!"
