I stared at the letter, surrounded by roses. I didn't want to open it, but at the same time, I had an unearthly desire to open it. I slowly limped into my room on the crutches and sat on the bed. I was honestly scared. Petrified. I think I've read enough romance novels to know what this means... But what if its a threat... No... I have got to stop over reacting, it might just be a hospital bill. Maybe a will for me to sign, because they've lied to me, and I'm really about to die. I shook my head and rolled my eyes at myself, I'm too dramatic. I took a deep breath and opened the letter. I opened it quickly, my hands shaking. As I ripped it, I saw four lines.
The definition of beautiful is you
You send me beams of light
When I'm with you, I feel like I'm floating up
When I look around now, guess what's colored in? Everything.
-Secret Admirer.
By the time I finish this, I realize I've been holding my breath. I almost laugh at the letter... if it wasn't for my romantic side. I'm swooning inside. But who is it?
I don't know if I should be curious, or creeped out and scared. Hold on, maybe it wasn't even for me, it didn't even have a signature! I take deep breaths, calming myself. I'm just being paranoid, maybe this person sent it to the wrong hospital room. What if it was Katie's? Maybe I should just wait in case I get another, one, just in case. I blush as I read the letter again. No one has ever had a crush on me, at least that I know of. I'm normally quiet around people. How do I act? Wait... What if it was Kyle... or, even... Mark. No, now I'm just being ridiculous. I run my hand through my hair, thinking this all through, then someone appears by the doorway. I quickly shove the letter away, hoping the man standing by the door wasn't going to ask about it. He raises his eyebrows at me and smiles. I quickly inspect him.
He has bright red hair and is wearing a pair of glasses, much like my own. He has pale skin and is very lean. He seems in his early 20's, maybe even fresh out of high school. He's cute. I then realize he is wearing a doctor's suit. I say the first thing I can think of.
"Who are you?" I mentally facepalm myself. Way to go.
He laughs, "I am Doctor Vayes. I'm an intern here at the hospital. The doctor told me to come check on you, give you an inspection and then tell you if you're ready to go home." I smile at the thought of finally going home.
"Sounds good," Is all I say back to him.
He checks my blood pressure and my heart beat, then he asks me a series of questions about how I feel. I answer him honestly, then he gives me a prescription bottle and a list of things I should and shouldn't do.
I'm finally ready to go back home.
