A Field of Blushes

I walk into school. It's a Tuesday, and I had Sunday and Monday off. I stayed at home for those days. But I'm finally back. On my first day back at lunch, I had already seen Kyle in my history class. According to him I also had math and drama with him. I don't know how I feel about that....
I also saw Nigol, but only in the halls. And the most he ever did when he saw me was wave and smile. Then he continued. I was wondering why he wasn't in any of my classes, but I realized that he was a grade ahead of me... to my misfortune.-Wait! No! That's not what I meant! I blush at the thoughts running in my head.
I'm in the middle of eating my lunch with Ashe when I hear a ding. I immediately look  up  my phone. It's a notification for the newest Miraculous dub! I quickly plug in my headphones. It makes me snort. I start giggling, and Ashe looks at me like I'm crazy, then asks to watch it too. After she watches it, she too is laughing. Then I feel someone sit next to me.
I look over and see Kyle smiling at me. He looks at his food, and takes a bite of his corn dog. I smile because if Katie were here she would freak out and start making gagging noises.... if she was here. My smile fades.
"How are you?" He asks me.
"Good, a little sore, but good." I smile at him weakly as I shove a small portion of spaghetti in my mouth. I slowly chew it to avoid conversation with him.
"So are you an actress? I've heard you're great in drama and was wondering if you were going to sign up for As You Like It." He asks me curiously. I swallow my food down carefully as I look back at him.

"Well, I was going to do that before the accident, but I don't think I will anymore, I have a lot of work to catch up on." I look towards Ashe and she grins at me as she looks down and shakes her head, suddenly interested in her food. I stick my tongue out at her but she doesn't see it. I mentally make a note to ask her what that about. I forget Kyle was there, so when he speaks, I jump a little.
"Oh," He looks kind of upset, but then he smiles, "But will you consider it... for me?" I do the famous Tamaki blush and I can see Ashe getting up to leave. I try not to glare at her, she's probably going to go sit with her cousin and laugh. If Katie were here, she would laugh and say, 'Of course she's going to sign up!' Then force me to do it. I quickly go back to the conversation.

I say, "I don't know, I'll have to see, when's the audition?"
"On Thursday." He finishes his corndog. "Hope I see you there!" He then gets up and leaves. I now sit by myself, and I still have ten minutes before I have to leave for my last period... Math. Ew.

I decide to get up and walk outside into the cold October breeze. I suddenly wish I had my red plaid jacket, but I just turn on my playlist. I walk past the people outside who are eating, and I walk past the boys playing football, I look at the time, six minutes until I have to go back inside. I see a nice tree and I go up to it and sit under it. I sit there as Geronimo turns on. I nod my head to the beat. Five minutes. It's really cold outside now and I see black clouds coming over our direction. I lean my head back, wishing I had someone to talk to when I feel a hand on my shoulder, I jump in surprise, backing away from the tree, but I look up to see Nigol. He smiles shyly at me. I unplug my earphones.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. I was calling you, but I guess you couldn't hear me. I just wanted to see if you were okay."
"I'm doing fine, thanks." I tell him.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asks me.
"No, go ahead." I smile at him.
"Thanks." He sits by me, we're so close, I can feel his warmth on the cold day. Four minutes. I'll leave soon so I can get to my locker. We sit in silence when it starts to rain. Dang it. Not rain, I hate rain after that stupid accident. And I have to get to class soon. Maybe I should just sluff. Nah, although, that's what Katie would suggest. I sigh depressingly. He looks down at me and I look up at him, we're so close, our noses are a few inches apart. I blush and look at my phone again. I forgot to turn it off, I quickly turn it off and start to stand up.

"I have to get to class now." Nigol quickly stands up before me and gives me a hand to help me up. I accept it, but I feel my cheeks heat up again. His hands are so warm, mine are so cold. Once I'm up, he lets go... Unfortunately. I shiver and my breath is foggy.

"I'll take you back, but here, take my jacket. I don't mind." He starts to take off his jacket and I blush, my nose is probably bright red from the coldness, but at least my cheeks are warm from all the blushing...

"No, no! It's okay, really!" I say to him

"No, it's not, what kind of man would I be if i didn't offer my jacket to you?" He asks me and he grins and blushes. He throws his jacket over my shoulders. It's so warm I almost sigh at the warmth.

"Th-thanks." I tell him. We start walking back.

"No worries! What's your next class?"

"It's Math with Mr. Kingsfield." I say.

"No way! That's my next class. I'm the T.A. for that class."

I say, "Cool!" But, I'm thinking, crap! Kyle AND Nigol in my next class!? How am I ever going to focus?
