"Why?" Martha asked, looking between the Doctor and Matt. The former stared back at her, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, you're kidding me. Don't be ridiculous. Stop looking at me like that."

Matt couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

"Come on then," the Doctor said, instead of answering her. They took off through the hallways at a run, the Time Lord eventually stopping them in an office and sending Martha out to investigate where the Judoon where.

"They've reached the third floor," she said when she returned. "What's that thing?" she asked, noting that the Doctor was using his sonic on the computer.

"Sonic screwdriver."

"Well, if you're not going to answer me properly!"

"No, really, it is. It's a screwdriver, and it's sonic. Look." He held it up for the two to look at.

"What else have you go, a laser spanner?"

"I did, but it was stolen by Emily Pankhurst, cheeky woman," the Doctor shot back. He smacked the computer. "Oh, this computer! The Judoon must have locked it down. Judoon platoon upon the moon," he said, rolling the words around in his mouth. "'Cause I was just traveling past, I swear, I was just wandering, I wasn't looking for trouble, honestly I wasn't."

"Right, because your ship didn't lock me in and you didn't drag me along for the ride," Matt said dryly.

"But I noticed these plasma coils around the hospital," the Doctor continued, ignoring him. "And that lightning, that's plasma coils, been building up for two days now, so I had Matt here check in. I thought something was going on inside, it turns out the plasma coils were the Judoon up above."

"But what are they looking for?" Matt asked.

"Something that looks human, but isn't."

"Like you. Apparently," Martha said.

"Like me. But not me."

"Haven't they got a photo?" she asked.

"Might be a shape changer," he responded off hand.

"Whatever it is, can't you leave the Judoon to find it?" Matt said tentatively.

"If they declare the hospital guilty of harboring a fugitive, they'll sentence it to execution," the Doctor responded.

"All of us?" Martha asked.

"Oh yes. If I can find this thing first... Oh! You see, they're thick! Judoon are thick! They are completely thick! They wiped the records. Oh, that's clever."

"What are we looking for?" Martha asked.

"I don't know," the Doctor said, running a hand through his hair and making it seem to defy gravity even more than usual. "Any patient admitted in the past week with unusual symptoms." He picked up the monitor, peering at the back. "Maybe there's a back up."

"Just keep working. I'll go ask Mr. Stoker, he might know," Martha said.

"Right, good idea. Matt, you want to go with her?"

"On it," Matt replied, taking a few running strides to catch up with the medical student.

"Aren't you worried the Judoon will find you?" she asked as he fell into step with her.

"Me? No. Why would I be?"

"He said you're aliens," Martha replied flatly.

"He is. I'm human as they come," he said as they ducked through the corridors. He kept his shoulders back and his head high, hoping that by appearing confident maybe he'd start to feel confident.
