Debate Club

The next day, I woke up with a smile on my face. I laid in bed for about five minutes, thinking about what occurred last night. Unbelievable. I seriously can't believe that I spent the whole night with Nick. This had t9o be the best night of my life. I shook my head and started to get ready for school. As soon as I got to school, I saw Nick standing by my first period class. We still had an hour until school starts.
"Nick?! What are you doing jere? Don't you have a zero period."
"My zero period is band remember?"
"Oh yeah."
I laugh.
"Why are you here at school then? Don't you want sleep in?"
"I don't need to sleep in. I'm happier when I'm with you."
I was speechless. I blushed a bit and walked towards Nick. He walked towards me and gave me a bear hug. I hugged him tightly and he kissed me on the forehead. I bury my head into his chest.
"You smell like cinnamon and vanilla."
He chuckles.
"Do you like it? I bought a new brand of bodywash."
"Hehe smells nice Nick."
"Good."
"So we have an hour til' school starts... What do you want to do."
"Whatever you wanna do"
"I have nothing in mind."
"You know what? I know where we can go. Follow me."
He grabs my hand and we walk towards the trail. Once we got on the trail, we went off and towards the forest, down at the bottom of the steep slope. I start running down out of excitement and Nick couldn't keep up. By the time I got up to my tree, Nick was running behind me, huffing and puffing.
"Damn Emma! You just don't slow down in this place do you?!"
"Hehe sorry. Bit you brought me to my favorite place. I've basically adapted here. I know this forest fro. The inside out and I can move without issue."
"Ah I see."
He was still huffing and puffing. I laugh a bit and hang upside-down on the branch."
"When you catch your breathe, why don't you come and join me up here?"
"I don't know Emma."
"You'll be fine. If you're still unsure, there's rope behind that tree that you can use as a harness."
"Why the hell is there rope?!"
"I don't know. I just found it one day and I use it once in a while."
"For what?!"
"Lifting heavy objects,to make things, of course, they never last long..."
"...."
"Nick??"
"You definitely aren't like the other girls I've dated...."
"Sorry......"
"N-NO.... Its not a bad thing. The girls that I've dated before you didn't like to get dirty and the weren't as active, and don't even get me STARTED about their morals."
"Oh... yeah... I'm not afraid of a little dirt."
"Haha, I can tell...'
"So are you coming up?"
"Fine... I'll come up."
Nick climbed the tree and sat on the branch that I was on. I scoot ove towards him.
"Was that so bad?"
"N-no. I normally don't climb trees though."
"What have YOU been doing your entire childhood?!"
"Playing video games like pokémon or playing tag or hide and seek with my friends."
"And you never climbed trees???"
"Nope."
"You are a weird child...."
He put a finger on my lips.
"Shhhh...."
He scooted closer to me and put his arms around me.
"Ummm.... I thinks this is too danger-"
"Shhhhh..... Just enjoy the moment."
I decided to shut up and rested my head on his shoulder. Truth be told, I was a little cold, but his body heat was already warming me up. I could feel his breathing and I could hear his heartbeat. He then kissed me on the cheek and I giggled.
"What's so funny???"
"Ahem.... Nick and Emmalyn sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G."
I burst into laughter and so does Nick.
"Oh my god... How did I not think of that?!"
"I don't know. And that's not kissing... this is..."
"Look at Nick and he was slowly coming near me. I leaned in and our lips were soon pressed onto one another. Once again, I had no idea what I was doing and I was embarrassing myself once again. I pulled away and Nick looked at me in confusion.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine. Its just... once again, I don't know how to kiss and I'm just embarrassing myself right now."
"Don't worry about it.  Anyway.... Do you wanna hang out after school? Here?"
"Sorry, but I kinda want to go straight home today. I'm too tired from the concert last night."
"Ah I see. Well do you want to hang at lunch today? I've got a club to go to but we can go together."
"What club is it?"
"The debate club."
"I'm not much for debate, but for you, I'll go."
"Okay awesome! Anyway, we should go back up to the school."
"Yeah... That sounds like a great idea actually."
We head out of the forest and we go our separate paths to our classes. I meet Samantha with Johanna (Jo).
"Guys!"
"What?"
"I might actually have a boyfriend."
"What?! Who?! Is he cute? Is he nice?! Have you kissed?! Where did you meet?! I'VE GOT SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!"
"Calm down Sammy! For Christ sake! I'm hanging with him at the debate club. He will "pick me up at the usual hang out spot. Now it will be pretty damn shocking, and I know you don't like him, but please promise me that you won't kick him in the balls."
"Noooooo... You don't mean... Nick?! How- when- I.... (sighs) I don't understand... You fell for your stalker??? How is that POSSIBLE?!"
"We hung out and I saw his true colors. Besides, he's very sweet once you get to know him."
"I'll take your word for it. But he will have to pass my test."
"Test???"
"How well he can handle an akward situation and how honest he is."
"And what does he have to do?"
"You're a part of the first part. He's got to kiss you inf ront of us and-"
"NO! Its not gonna happen!"
"Haha yes it will. If it doesn't, he fails the test."
"The second one is to answer questions about himself. Its would make an akward situation by putting him on the spot."
Just then, the bell rings and I decided to go to class. Classes has been moving on so slowly today but finally, lunchtime rolled by. I headed down to my normal hang out area where all of my friends are. Nick has been taking a while to get here. I was busy talking to Katie when I felt someing pull me by the waist and a hand covered my eyes.
"Guess whoooo...."
"Nick stahp it!"
I giggle a bit and Katie rips me out of his arms. Leave her alone. She doesn't like you, go away!"
"Katie leave him alone. I ended up liking him back."
"YOU'RE KIDDING?! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!"
"A few weeks ago I guess. But I told him last night during the concert."
As we were talking, Sammy just made her way to us. Oh god no. I know what's about to go down.
"We don't approve of you yet. We need to know more about you. So.... what do you like about Emma?"
"Her laugh, smile, voice, the way she talks, her eyes, personality, quirkiness, her morality, I could go all day."
"Okay, okay..... How old are you?"
"Forteen."
"What is your favorite movie?"
"Horrible Bosses."
"Emma come over here."
I walked over and Sammy turned me towards him.
"Top it off with a kiss."
"SAM-"
I get cut off to Nick's lips being pressed against mine. I slowly but surely melted into the kiss. There were so much people watching us, but I didn't care. It last a few more seconds before we both pulled away. Sam looked at us for a few minutes in surprise and then shook her head, smiling.
"Okay, I approve... Damn... I thoight you would at least hold back a bit, but you just went for it..."
"Why would I hold back from a pretty girl?"
"True."
"Anyway Emma, We gotta go."
"Yeah... Lets go."
We left and went to room 301 in the H building where the club was being held. We walked in the class room and
Took a seat. We waited a few minutes for more people to show up and then we started the debate club. Nick walked up to the front of the classroom.
"Hey guys! Welcome back to the debate club. For those of you who are new and don't know me, I am Nick, the president of the debate club. Today, our topic is Is it better to have loved, or to never have loved at all? Of you say that it is better to have loved, go to that side over there (he points to the left side of the room) and gor those of you to say it is better to not have loved at all, go to that side of the room (he points to the right side of the room). Along with the rest of the club, I get up and go to my side. I decided to go to the left. About ten people went to the right while five, including me, went to the left.
"Okay, interesting. Lets start debating. Joyce, why did you choose to go to the right side of the room?"
"Mainly because if you loved anybody, all you would do is set yourself up for pain and most marriages don't even work out anyway, so what's the point?"
"Interesting view Joyce. Emma, could you tell me why you chose to go to the left?"
"Ummm... well... All throughout life, you're going to get hurt in any way, shape, and form. So, it doesn't matter if you do find love or not because you will still end up getting hurt. So why not fall in love with someone? If you find someone that likes you back, then  it might be worth your while. What's life without a little bit of risk. You shouldn't spend your entire life in a shell."
"That's a good way of putting it Emma.  Anyway, the bell is about to ring, you can just hang out for the rest of lunch if you wish. Some people leave, and tue rest sit down. I sat down in me seat and just watched some videos on my phone when a group of girls walked over to Nick after he got done wiping off the board.
"Hey Nick. We were wondering if-"
"Sorry ladies, could you give me a moment?"
He walks over to me and cupped my chin and raised my head.
"Nick? Are you o-"
Nick's lips touched mine softly but firmly. I was used to this by now and kissed him back. He cupped my cheek in his hand the kiss got deeper. After what felt like forever, we broke apart, only leave a strand of saliva connecting use together. The girls looked angry bit defeated.
"Nick? What was that about? That came out of nowhere."
"Those girls were about to ask me out like they usually do during debate club. I always say no but the always insist, they wasted so much of my time this year. I don't have any feelings for them at all and don't take it like I'm using you, because I'm not, but I figured that they would give up if I kissed another girl."
"Okaaaaay.... Well, glad I could help... I guess???"
"Yeah..."
Just then the bell rings and I stand up to leave. Nick grabs my hand and pulls me into a hug. I hugged back and left the room and went to class.
