Classes finally ended and I just went straight home. As soon as I got home, I got a message on facebook from Nick. I quickly opened up facebook chat.
Begin of Messages:
Nick: hey 😀
Emma: Hi! How are you?
Nick: great! how are you
Emma: Good. Tired though
Nick: why?
Emma: Idk. I had a long day I guess. Had to give a speech in English and I did a lot of running in P.E.
Nick: wow. you should rest
Emma: Yeah I'm just relaxing right now. My dad is doing school work right now and it's driving me crazy. I wish he had headphones.
Nick: haha thats a bumer
Emma, how much do you like me
Emma: A lot. How much do you like me? 🙂
Nick: i like you too

Emma: What I like the most about you is your personality. You're very laid back and you are very nice. You're a great person to be around.
Nick: i guess its my turn
i really like how easy you are to talk to (for the most part) you have an amazing personality and you going through so much and still being as great as you are...well its just WOW

Emma: Yeah. Lol. Idk. I had fun last night

Nick: im sure you have wondered why i havent asked you out right?
Emma: Um yeah
Nick: well i havent asked you out becuase we would only go out for about a week.
and im afraid you will get to attached and when you leave im terrified you will be hurt
Emma: I've dealt with worse thing (like my mother for instance)

You know you are a nice guy, and any girl would be lucky to date you 😞
Nick: im so sorry but im just to scared to ask you out. you dont deserve to be hurt in anyway anymore
and i bet youll find someone else in your next school
Emma: Yeah bit no one like you.
Nick: i wish we had more time

Nick: i wish i met you at the begining
Emma: Yeah. 😔
Nick: im so sad now
Emma: I have a question. Before you started talking to me, what did you like about me that the other girls don't have?
I know its a weird question
Nick: well i didnt know you but there was just something in you that made me want to talk to you
Emma: I really do like you but you were kind of moving fast during our last concert. I would've taken it a bit better if you just told me you liked me. I am one of those girls who won't turn you down right away. But I still like you. 😞

Nick: im really sorry
Emma: Its okay. You left a good impression on me that night too. You're a gentleman. I saw that. That is one thing I value about you

Emma: No problem. How would you like to hang out with me for about an hour after school on Friday? We could go down to the forest.

Emma: If you want. Or it could be next friday

I put down my phone and head into the dinning room where food was ready. We were having pizza tonight. I was so tired. I ate and went to bed. The next day, I arrived at school and met up with my friends Sammy and Jo.
"How are things with your boyfriend???"
Sammy grinded at me and leaned against a brick wall."
"Don't call him that. He's confusing the absolute hell out of me."
"What happened?"
"Ugh... read these."
I showed her the text messages and when she finished reading them, she gave my phone back to me.
"Well he's being awfully vague..."
"Yeah. You don't have to remind me."
"I'm sorry man."
"Yeah, whatever."
I went the entire day without seeing Nick. At lunch, my friend Naomi helped me clean out my locker and we hung out at the hangout place for the rest of lunch. I couldn't wait until afterschool. As soon as lunch ended, I called my dad to tell him that I was going to be an hour late today and headed down to my forest. I walked around instead of climbing my tree for once and I saw a deer with her fawn, grazing on the mountain side, looking as peaceful as ever. I was calming down so much. I finally went to my tree, where I wrote, "Emmalyn Carter was here." I climbed up and leaned against a branch and propped my feet up. I set an alarm for 3:45 and closed my eyes. What's wrong with me? He's just a guy. I guess this is just a phase. I kept my eyes close and I was having flashbacks of seventh grade. I opened my eyes quickly and I check the time. It was 3:30. I got down from the tree and wrote a new message on it under my old on.
"Never trust anybody but yourself."
I grabbed my backpqck and walked off to my dad's car. I got in the car and we drove home together. Tomorrow was friday. I would be hanging out with Nick that day. I smile a bit, having that in mind.
