Just wanna say that Dimitri isn't the main character.
This is just an important part for the story to flow properly.

Prologue.
1965
His shaky hand gripped around the circular glass of whiskey like his life depended on it and he launched the remaining contents of the glass into his mouth. People were staring at him; they were staring at him like he was a piece of meat. He could feel their eyes burning holes in the back of his head. It made him self-concious, nervous, and more importantly, his subconsious told him to be frightened.
His fingers tapped along the mahogony bar-side and time seemed to slow down. Each tap got louder and he felt as if he was attracting an awful lot of attention. But he wasn't, he was being paranoid and he guessed it was the whiskey causing that
"You look... familiar," a voice behind him said in a tentative manner. He froze for a second but eventually and hesitantly turned his body around ninety degrees and his eyes lingered on the owner of the voice- a girl. A beautiful, enchanting girl. He didn't quite comprehend how he looked so familiar to the girl; he hadn't seen her once in his entire life. He'd remember if he had. Maybe she just had a flirtatious attitude and this was one of her ways around a guy.
Her slim, petite figure was complimented by a simple, black, cotton dress which stopped mid-thigh. Her light brown cascade of hair reached down to below her chest and matched perfectly beside her glowing pale skin. Her wide eyes were almost feline and elegantly rose up to her fine, plucked brows. She wore an ancient amulet, one that looked stone cold. It was pure silver and had a large diamond-shaped outline. It's silver glistened from the flureoscent lights above them and the ruby coloured stone in between the diamond glowed without the assistance of light. She was definitely the sort of girl you'd recognise in a heartbeat.
Snapping himself out of his trance before she could notice, he replied, "yeah," he raked his hand nervously through his hair, "I come here a lot."
She took this as he wanted to have a conversation when in reality he would rather dwell in his self-pity and sat herself down on a stool beside him, running her hand through her delicate locks to try and somewhat style it to make her hair look more presentable than anticipated. However, she didn't need to. In Dimitri's personal opinion, the girl looked perfect. Her eyes focused on his empty glass for a few seconds and then moved back up to him. "Want a re-fill?" she asked, a small smirk daring to reveal itself at the edges of her thin lips.
"I'm good, thanks," he responded almost instantly and due to his non-hesitant reply, a peeved look appeared on her face.
Prepared not to give in, she leaned forward, her tooth scraping her lower lip in a playful manner. "What's your name?"
"Dimitri," he said, not really bothered or agitated about her presence, but not particulary jumping for joy to make conversation with her even if she was possibly the most attractive woman he had come across in a while. A dangerous vibe was vibrating off of her aura. His eyes focused on the bar-side infront of him, other than her. "You?" This time, he looked up at her, and found himself rendered into hopeless paralysation.
"Kirsty-Rae," she replied, a small smile forming on her lips. "But you can call me Kirst," she added and ran her index finger down his revealed pale skin on his arm which rested on the bar-side, making the scene intense.
He forced his eyes to drag away from her existence and moved his arm out of reach, making sure he pushed her hand out of the way in the process. "I'm not in the mood for sluts," he spat and walked off and out of the back door of the bar. The feeling he had previously felt in his gut of people watching him washed over him again but he shrugged it off. Besides, he was somewhat tipsy from the few glasses of whiskey he'd absorbed and he was a light weight.
He'd only gotten a few steps away from the oh-so-familiar place he'd gotten to know so well through the years when a hand clamped on his shoulder and sharp nails digged ever so lightly into his skin but it still slightly hurt. Not enough to cause an injury though.
Letting out a faint groan, he grabbed the hand and purposely tore it violently off of his skin. Turning around, flabbergasted, the girl he would have still spotted in an over-crowded area, like a needle in a haystack, due to her incredible good looks, stood before him. Kirsty-Rae.
Kirsty didn't vacillate. She proudly lunged towards him, her hands gripping tightly on his arms, to make sure he had no ability to move out of the awkward position. Her feline eyes grew bloodshot and wide as her pearly white teeth were replaced with unmistakeable, sharp fangs.
Kirsty pulled herself towards Dimitri's neck in a desperate manner, sunk her teeth into the delicious, throbbing bloodstream beneath his thin, arched neck and groans and muffled crucial screams left his open lips as his whole body quaked and quivered. Drops and drops of blood slithered down her throat until Dimitri was drained...
