this chapter will skip to Sienna's POV halfway through because she's a very mysterious character in the story and I just want to expand on her mysterious theme without giving too much away

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Jay glared at the culprit of the tapping and all but hypnotised her to stop with his eyes. "Could you stop that?" He demanded more than asked in a sullen way.

Carmen feigned an innocent look and looked around the room. "What, me? What was I doing?"

"Don't start." He glowered.

She grinned and flashed her pearly white teeth. "No idea what you're talking about, darling."

"How long have you known Sienna?" Jay blurted out.

"A few years. I'm really tight with her sister. She's a great kid, different, sure bu- oh. It seems Mr. Player here has grown a liking to our precious Sienna Saint, is that right? Wait until Amalia hears about this! Who knows what she'll do!" She said it in a dramatic way and put her hand over her mouth to increase the effect.

"Shut up." Jay growled and dipped his paint brush into the unrecognisable coloured water and then brushed it into the liquid paint colour orange and continued painting his sunset picture.

"Oo, feisty, surprise surprise." She said sarcastically underneath her breath.

"You know, they say that if a person is full on horrible, someone made them that way. So what is it, drunk and disorderly father? Drugged up mother? "

"My parents are dead, you asshole."

Jay bit his lip and felt guilt spread inside of him.. "Look, I didn't mean i-"

"Don't stop being you on my account. You know that you meant it so don't twist around your words 'cause that's just lower than low. I can't stand a liar, especially when that liar is a heartbreaker."

"Heartbreaker? What?"

"Really?" She rolled her eyes. "Okay. Victim one, Anna last year. You humiliated her in front of the entire guy population; told her she was just a trashy fling. Remember her?" She raised one finger and Jay shook his head. "Typical." Raising another finger and so on, she continued with her list of names. "Aria, not long ago. Dated her for a week then claimed she bored you. Ikian, that beautiful transfer student from Mexico. She was really into you, you know? Shame as well as she had such a lovely personality. Oh, let's not forget Amalia. You're playing her by the strings."

"God. You keep tabs on my life like hell." He announced, ignoring her large list of girls he'd crushed.

"Just observant." She shrugged nonchalantly and tossed her dark hair over her shoulder, adding her finishing touches to her near enough professional art work. "There." She smiled. "Like it?"

Jay nodded and smiled a little. "Am I forgiven?"

"I don't hold grudges. Even when they're against guys like you."

The bell rang and Carmen quickly jotted down her initials in the top right hand corner as Jay did the same. "Later, bad boy." She laughed and grabbed her bag before walking out without a second glance, swaying her hips side to side.

**

It was four minutes until midnight.

Jay, Dallas and Dexter had agreed to meet in the lounge room all stocked up with weapons just in case they happened to come across a vampire.

Throwing his prepared weapon bag over his shoulder, Jay looked over at his heavily snoring room mate and tip toed sneakily over to the locked door.
